I had never heard of the Flobots until the single 'Handlebars' emerged on the radio. Caught by that hook at the beginning of the song and noticing some great instrumentals I thought I'd risk it and check out the album; not thinking that I would end up finding my favourite band of the year and the best album I have heard in a long long time. What I love most about this album is the time and thought given to each element within the band; the lyrics are inspiring, clever, powerful (Without being politically preachy) and wrapped round a fantastic rhythm section. I have this CD on constant repeat! The music is so varied but holds your attention every step of the way. Bocelli's voice is one you just have to fall in love with. His "Romanza" is 1 of my favourites but "Vivo Per Lei" has me hooked also. GET THIS CD!!!!!!

When Mogwai released 'Young Team' back in 1997, they were a breath of fresh air. They combined the rawness of Pavement circa 'Slanted & Enchanted' with the atmosphere so fondly remembered on Slint's milestone album 'Spiderland'. 11 years on from that landmark release and Mogwai have gone through many up's and downs. 'Come On Die Young' blew us all away with its blinding dynamics and sinister air, but conversley, 'Rock Action' left me with an empty feeling and made me wonder wheather this once great band had gone as far as it could. Black Sabbath's most famous album with some amazing songs which are War Pigs, Paranoid, Iron Man(I Am Iron Man) & Fairies Wear Boots (best song on the album?). The rest of the album sadly took awhile to grow on me but when they do you start to notic some cool tracks like Hand Of Doom & Electric Funeral. Overall a brilliant album some wicked songs on but their debut album is so much better. So i suggest buy that first if you dont ave any Sabbath albums buy their Self titled debut album Black Sabbath that's mindblowing. BLACK SABBATH ROCK!!!!!!!

I have to agree with the writer of the 1-star review that the actress who plays Elphaba on Broadway (and is featured on the cd) definitely has a disappointing voice compared to the West End actress. However, I do think that the actors playing Glinda and the Wizard, in contrast, have a better voice on Broadway, compensating a little for Elpahaba. I really do hope that a West End version of this cd will become available at some point.

I'm probably preaching to the converted, but ISIHAC is intelligent, naughty, fantastic, foolish, sarcastic, and more. iPod users beware - you simply cannot stop yourself laughing to this. The radio in my car died and so I dug these out of my cupboard. Haven't enjoyed the commute so much for ages. Don't miss out.

I had to buy this new album as he's bound to play some of the songs at his only gig at the Royal Festival Hall in the UK in November. As always with Randy Newman theres a lot thats worth listening to here. On first listen its not an easy album to get to grips with. The orchestrations and arrangements (by RN) are full-on and to some degree make it difficult to listen to the all important lyrics. However after that first listen you will be caught up in the strange world of Randy Newman, and the arrangements add to the album as a whole, giving it a different sound and feel from his other albums. Quite a few songs have the standard Randy Newman Piano shuffle and overall I felt there was more of New Orleans feel to this album. Lyrically its everything ... Read More:

I know that this band has influences from Coldplay and Keane, but they are much better than those bands in my opinion. I thought Keane's singles from the last album were great, especially Crystal ball, so I think this is more like the new Keane than the old Keane. Although I think OneRepublic is their own individual band and maybe they shouldn't be compared. When I first heard this band's song re-mixed by Timbaland, I wasn't expecting the band to do any solo songs because I thought it was sort of organised by Timblalnd, but it turns out that Timbaland re-mixed OneRepublic's version of Apologize and made it sound better. I saw the film first and bought myself this cd afterwards. I love every song on it. If it's the music from the film that you want it's all on here. I'd highly recommend this cd.

I have to confess that I'm a complete Lambchop neophyte, but I happened to hear this album and loved it. The painting on the front by artist Michael Peed, Kurt Wagner's former grad school mentor, sets the scene for the album's soundscape: violence (through the window, you can see LA police officers beating a man in a racist attack) is comically and critically contrasted with the intimacy that takes centre stage (a man fondles his lover's breast on a dishevelled bed, blissfully unaware of the tumult outside). There is something more fiery being held back in the music, too, kindling on the coals in the background, but never quite bursting into flames.
