So here we go, the second album from Black Stone Cherry is here, and it's been worth the wait. Southern Rock has never sounded so fresh and contemporary, killer guitar lines, powerful vocals and improved songwriting all contribute here to a band rapidly on the rise. Things don't really get much better than album opener "Blind Man" which believe me is a good thing, because this song is easily one of the best rock songs I've heard this year. The Ballad "Things my father said" again fits in beautifully, its a tearful reflection on one's dad who has passed away. It's a shame a band like this is not very well known, by that I mean the casual music listener, because it really is a quality album.

Music can take you back to a time and a place that you would otherwise forget. This is one of thise albums.

Loved the movie, bought the disc. Unlike some movie sound tracks where you wonder how you thought the soundtrack would keep alive the memory of the movie, this one really does. The quirky and independent music mirrors the film's style and characters, witty, unusual and highly entertaining. How can you not love a disc that includes such lyrics as from Kimya Dawson's 'Loose Lips'; "they think we're disposable, well both my thumbs opposable are spelled out on a double word and triple letter score". Awesome.

Nice music. I really should give it up though after having countless versions of most of this material but, the issue here is packaging. The imbeciles who designed this must either a) not own any CDs or b) couldn't give a monkey's over whether what CDs they do own are covered in finger marks or scratches. To get the Cds out you have to somehow prise open the sleevs and....ooops!...the sleeve splits. Pathetic. What's wrong with a regular jewel case?

What can you say about this album, except that it is a real musical masterpiece! I've been a Damned fan since i was 15, and all I can say this is really a classic Damned album in all it's glory! We have waited for 7 long years for this album - but it was definitely worth it! For the fans of The Strawberries and Black album, but also Phantasmagoria, Anything and Grave Disorder! Don't think about it, just buy it!!!

I think this is probably a great album and certainly a sterling effort to bring together a range of influences both old and new to fuse a new UK folk perspective. The first talking bit sounds like Stanley Unwin on that Small faces album though and it can get just a little bit self indulgent - Hopefully like me though it will inspire you to re look at the rich heritage of traditional music this country has to offer

Just how many more albums can Radiohead make of such quality? Other bands become very samey, or try to change and fail. Somehow Radiohead manage to change whilst staying the same and keep producing top quality albums. This album just gets better and better with each listen, and in my view a Radiohead classic already.

If the Grim Reaper traded in his scythe and recorded an album of melancholic country guitar music this, one imagines, is what it would sound like. Johnny Cash's rich Fire N' Brimstone tones haven't diminished one bit despite his advancing years, but listen carefully and we now find it tinged with something soft and imperceptibly fragile. Something almost like regret (or relief) of a life lived through. Cash is one of those rare artists that can take a song, any song, and turn it utterly on its head, allowing the dark stuff of life to ooze out and re-contextualize it in ways you'd never even considered. Just listen to his version of We'll Meet Again. It belongs right at the end of Dr Strangelove when all the nukes are going off and the whole world has gone to heck. There's something quite ...
