I would give this a 4.5 if i could, but being a mathematician I have learned always to round up, therfore it gets the 5 star treatment. Opens up beautifully and sets the tone for the next 4 tracks. Mykanos is the stand out track for me and the highlight when I saw them live also. Basically I would recommend anyone to buy this as I really cannot see what there is to dislike, the harmonies are perfect and the landscapes created by the lyrics are beautiful. Probably stronger than the album but you should just buy both anyway. That's all I have to say about that. PS if you get chance to see them live do it. Now

Great soundtrack, Jennifer Hudson, Duffy and particular fave is New York Girls - Morningwood, if you loved the film you love the soundtrack!!

I have to admit I avoided buying this album because everyone talked about it and I didn't think it would match up to the ratings. However, I did give in and I'm glad I did! I can't remember how many times I've played it and I don't get sick of it. It's a lovely, easy going album, perfect for chilling out to. One of my favourites has to be 'People should smile more'. If you want a good album, get this!!

Anyone who claims to be a Coldplay fan and likes this album, clearly hasn't listened to 'Parachutes' or 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' two good strong albums, littered with really good songs like 'Yellow', 'Shiver', 'The Scientist', 'In My Place' etc... , whereas 'X & Y' has no good songs, the only half decent thing i liked about this album was one of the videos where an old lady is doing some acrobatic tricks.

Like i said in my title this album is so much better than confessions i thought apart from the singles he released from confessions there were only about 3 or 4 tracks i liked that were not singles. Anyway let's get into this album, it defo shows off a more grown up usher let not forget he is nearly 30 Foever young-It took me a while to get into this song but now i like it Love in this club-Great club banger but part 2 is better This ain't sex and Trading places are great uptempo songs love, love these two tracks. This album is a real return to form for Crue - its pretty much faultless. It rocks like hell and the boys are on sparkling form - these guys have been around for nearly 30 years and can show many a younger band how to play. The material is uniformly excellent, there isn't a duff track here. Welcome back lads!!

This album has taken me by surprise. I didn't buy it for me but for the other half. Truth is though, many tracks have caught my ear and I've been playing it sneakily by myself too when no-one else is around, but don't tell her will you?! You see, I wasn't really expecting an album displaying such a diverse range of electronic influence. Being a fan of Jarre and Kraftwerk, there is more than a nod and a wink to these classic artists here, as well as more contemporary influences such as Groove Armada and even The Streets. All in all a great album. 4 stars!

Parachutes is still my favourit album from Coldplay. This album contributed to coldplays success with great songs Shivers, Yellow, High Speed, Everythings not lost. What can I say one of the best English bands ever.

As a fan of there first album I bought this album when it first came out, listened to it once and said "What is this? It sounds like ELO on crack. RUBBISH!!" And so didn't listen to it for ages. However i found it again the other day so listened to it once again. My reaction this time was "What is this? It sounds like ELO on crack. GREAT!!" I always find the things that take a while to like usually stay with you for longer. Good Album!

Not as enduring or magical as the soundtrack for Jonathan Livingston Seagull, but then again this is a completely different type of film that he was composing for. JLS was more of a spiritual journey which was perfectly complimented in the music, whilst Jazz Singer is more of a commercial movie of a "Boy Done Good" scenario. Personally, I preferred the songs on JLS, or should I say his genre of music, less anthemic, which probably isn't a word, and more beautifully crafted. However you can't argue with success, and there have been enough hits pulled off this album to back up any argument against it.
