The essence of any Brit-Pop band is do they have enough originality to last the distance? It's often easy to produce a stunning first album and then fail to live up to expectations. The first album can well be dominated by songs written over a period of time. The problem can come when new material has to be written. Having said that there has to be a starting point and The Feeling are a decent southern England band with some catchy choruses and hook lines that have stood them apart from many of their contemporaries. They have the pseudo London feel of a Blur but mix it with decent melodies. I buy dance compilations primarily to listen to good mixing between (good) tracks. The track selection on this package isn't awful, OK there are some tracks that perhaps shouldn't be there, but what annoys me slightly is the total lack of any careful mixing between tracks. Some transitions are as smooth as silk, whereas others are a simple fade down and fade up which all takes place in about 3 seconds, or just a crash edit, which I find defeats the point of buying an album such as this. When will MOS return to letting actual named DJ's mix their output?

This album is amazing. It's not the white stripes so don't compare it to them, just listen and make up your own mind. A few years down the line this will be considered a classic album.

but it is a really enjoyable album. Unashameably influenced by AC/DC, if you also like The Offspring and WASP (The band 'We Are Sex Perverts' and not the KKK) then you will like this. The main fault lies in that it sounds like a album of singles, and therefore does not quite gell. One tip - start the album at track 3 (which is the first single), and continue playing through 4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,1 until you finish on track 2. The album just sounds better - trust me!

the other fellow seems to have missed the point. it should be the music that's being reviewed and not the product. so then... if you know and love the songs of eddy grant, remember the hits and want to reconnect and hear more, or indeed, like your reggae light, poppy and singalong hook friendly, you wont be disappointed. buy with confidence.

I was introduced to Amy Winehouse when I finally purchased Back to Black months after the CD had been released. After hearing "You Know I'm No Good" and "Rehab", I still didn't know what to expect from the entire CD, so I decided to wait until a friend of mine finally convinced me to buy it. The CD had an old school feel to it and my favorite tracks ended up being "Back To Black", "Tears Dry On Their Own", "Me & Mrs. Jones", "Love Is A Losing Game" and "Rehab". I was seacrhing for music one day on amazon and I found out that she was re-relasing a CD that she had previously released overseas in 2003 entitled "Frank". As is often the case a blues singer/guitarist is better served by a live recording than a studio album. With modern technology the production is pinpoint in its accuracy and as blues performers especially tend to play live gigs more than most other genres, the performances tend to be spot on as well, and a connection with the crowd is guaranteed. As this is my first exposure to John Mayer, I wasn't that sure what to expect, but I felt that I had to dock a star because he doesn't really reach out beyond the blues vibe and so inevitably just ends up preaching to the converted. This CD is very relaxing. The songs go deep to your soul, and sound so familiar for some reason. Anyway they're fantastic and I'm listening to them right now, not for the first time. Just thought I'd add another five star review to the bunch because this CD deserves it.

it really surprised me that i liked this album being that i am a massive rock, indie and metal fan. but i have to say i loved nearly every track. i bought this album for my wife really because she is into dance and trance music, but when i heard it i loved it, especially tracks like save me, disco lights, flashlight, paradise and dreams, right by your side. there are loads more really great tracks but they are my stand out songs. so i would advise anyone whatever genre of music your into to go out and get this album i'm sure you will agree.

His cd's make me feel good when im alone and dont know were any one is trying to work my arse of to achieve something it reminds me of being in love, break ups from bad relationships, the danger of extremity the beach and the calm waves, and how Bush miss treated the Iraqi's when he could of arrested the Taliban, this is a love record and im not embarrased to say it unfortunately hiding on there was you better hope your not alone to skank me bestest record apart from this track.
