The more you get into this album the more you realise that it has been exquisitely put together with songs about love and hope. My only reservation about Baxter is his rather high pitched falsetto voice but there is no denying the poetical feel to the lyrics. This is rock music for the intelligent set. I have an interest in Baxter's work as he comes from Bungay in Suffolk - a town I covered as a young newspaper reporter back in the 1970s. There is a jazz feel to many of the songs and there will be obvious comparisons with the voice of Jeff Buckley. Many Panic! fans and haters are dismissing this as something they did not expect from the band that released "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" 3 years ago. I was a fan of old Panic! and am now a massive fan of new Panic too. This album has a beautiful sound and atmosphere to it. This album definitely has influences from The Beatles. I doubt many teens are listening to The Beatles, so this is a really nice way of introducing it to people today. This is definitely a very brave direction for Panic to take, I think they deserve a lot more respect for such a massive change in their sound, and I love it. Radiohead are a great band, and I don't think this compilation of their videos could be classed as a cash in. If you are a big fan of Radiohead, rather than someone who mainly likes their better known work, it is a good thing to have for your collection. Their videos are some of the most creative, experimental, original and beautiful ever made. However I found myself a little disappointed with the overall standard and didn't enjoy all of the videos as much as I thought I would. Whilst the band have this reputation for very complex, arty videos - be aware that a few of the videos are basically just recorded live gigs or performance videos. I have this CD on constant repeat! The music is so varied but holds your attention every step of the way. Bocelli's voice is one you just have to fall in love with. His "Romanza" is 1 of my favourites but "Vivo Per Lei" has me hooked also. GET THIS CD!!!!!!

This album is amazing. It's not the white stripes so don't compare it to them, just listen and make up your own mind. A few years down the line this will be considered a classic album.

I heard nothing but praise for quite a while before i tried this. I kept hearing things like "It's not the normal indie music that is being churned out these days". But after a listen I realised that it is just that and what these people should have been saying was "It is the normal indie music that is being churned out these days". Theres nothing special about it. Nothing fresh really. This may seem like harsh criticism, but i'm not saying it's terrible, just that it's definately not new. If you're happy listening to the wombats and stuff like that, with no real experimentation, then you'll be golden here. Hearing Sigur Ros for the first time , as most of us did when hearing Agaetis byrjun, is akin, i imagine , to not just hearing music beamed down from another planet but hearing music beamed across from the far side of a far distant galaxy. The sort of thing Star Trek "Voyager" might have heard on their sojourn through the delta quadrant.( the cover , featuring a ballpoint pen drawing by a friend of the band further ratifies the music's alien ambience) The nearest comparison, and i realise that i am being far from being original here, are The Cocteau Twins , though even their celestial otherworldliness does,nt really compare to the Icelandic quartet. What a wonderful album. It really rocks. You either love them or hate them; there is no maybe about Bon Jovi. Every track is good in its own right and there are no "also ran" tracks just to pad out the album. You will note that "Lost Highway" was included in the film "Wild Hogs". Great for playing in the car!
