To put it in 1 sentence - The CD notes are as boring as the songs. Why is it "Cool" to dismiss Neil Diamonds work before his work with Rick Rubin?...Any one of his non Rubin produced albums are far better than this. YES....any one! Josh Groban's voice is in a league of its own - the best non-operatic singer around! The album is superb and the David Foster production is out of this world! If you think you don't like classical music, listen to 'Un giorno per noi'. Surely this most be the most beautiful piece of music ever. I could listen to it all day, every day. The man is sheer class!

Let me say from the beginning that I am no Neil Diamond fan. Sure I love his voice and he has written some great music in the past but.. too often its all a little "Barry Manilow" for me. This album is the exception and a total revelation. Raw, gritty and emotional, it has a depth and substance that we are not used to seeing from the artist. A real slow burn.

Many Radiohead reviews are pre occupied with comparing the band's albums. Personally I think this is meaningless. It's like trying to compare a bowl of semolina with a garden ornament. This is a different pre occupation to declaring a favourite. My favourite Radiohead album is 'Kid A' however, comparing it to 'The Bends'...Well I just wouldn't know where to start. 'The bends' is Radiohead's radio friendly era, 12 songs, 12 singles if they'd have wanted, and as with all radio friendly music the listener doesn't have to work too hard to enjoy it, the fix is instant. ' The Bends' is also about 5 equally talented musicians working together to make what is fundimentally a guitar,drums and bass masterpiece and it definately isn't about the 'Thom and Jonny show' ... Just how did they decide which song should be a single. With perhaps the exception of Wooden Boat, all of these songs could have been a single. All the lads take a turn at singing lead and all take credit for the combined work. A truly incredible feat, for the best selling band in the country to take 10 years off, not only come back but come back better. If this is a refection of what we are to expect in the future I can't wait for the next album

Radiohead are a great band, and I don't think this compilation of their videos could be classed as a cash in. If you are a big fan of Radiohead, rather than someone who mainly likes their better known work, it is a good thing to have for your collection. Their videos are some of the most creative, experimental, original and beautiful ever made. However I found myself a little disappointed with the overall standard and didn't enjoy all of the videos as much as I thought I would. Whilst the band have this reputation for very complex, arty videos - be aware that a few of the videos are basically just recorded live gigs or performance videos. The middle of the DVD has, in my opinion, the strongest videos and songs - from the bands strongest and most acclaimed albums ... Read More:

After the master blasting of previous CDs I found this collection very disappointing. Unless you like pop rock or country and western, you'll feel pretty cheated. Where is the heavy rock, the hip hop ? Bring it back.

This album is an emotional/musical journey through realationships and break-ups. The lyrics are sharp and not as 'wordy' as some of her recent efforts. Forget the '90's angry rock-chick' thing. Alanis is giving us a grown woman's perspective this time. The music is darker and more intense. But overall the album has a feeling of hope. The music is perfect for blasting loud and singing proud or listening to alone and reflecting. If you're going to buy this album get the deluxe edition because the bonus tracks are essential they contribute so much to the album. 'Orchid' is my new favourite song. Some highlights- 'Citizen Of The Planet' and 'Tapes' are powerful rock anthems. 'Not As We' is raw and emotional, as is the tender ... Read More:
