All I have to say about this album is that all the released singles are those which are very good. The rest of the songs are practically fillers and are lame, boring. "Finally Found" is a beautiful, warm ballad; "End of the Line" is a catchy, bouncy ballad; "Wont Take it Lying Down" is fiesty, strong and RnB filled track; and "Love of a Lifetime" is a sweet, honey filled ballad. The rest of the songs sound rather the same and are quite pathetic. The Honeyz had real good talent to produce a lot more better songs on this album... RnB fans into soul and sweet ballads will like this...

94.Against All Odds by: Mariah Carey

Music : Against All Odds
A personal favourite of mine - I thought it a big mistake when I heard Mariah intended to remake it on her "Rainbow" album...it was only after hearing it however that I had to eat my words as her version matched - if not excelled Phil Collins original. Imagine my surprise when I first heard this new single with the Westlife boys added..... Against All Odds is an extremely lonely song - written for a soloist yearning for their love back again and solo it should remain. Combining six voices - striving to achieve the greater vocal lines and smearing harmonies throughout the song (including a "choir" style ending as opposed to the subtle, hopeful end on Phil's/Mariah's versions)has robbed the song - for me - of all it's beauty, ... ...and bought this one only because at that time I collected everything Janet & because of the 2 bonus songs, but it was worth it. The album features nine remixes of her erotic R'n'B songs including "That's the Way Love Goes", "If", "Because of Love" and "You Want This". It has two remixes of "Any Time, Any Place", from which the R. Kelly Remix is the better. My special favorites are the romantic "Where Are You Now" (remixed by Nellee Hooper) and the dynamic "What'll I Do" (remixed by Dave Navarro). Both are better than the original versions on the "janet." album.
The bonus songs are good too, although not as good as the remixes. "70's Love Groove" was her most erotic song till the release of the "All For You" album.

Music : Design of a Decade 1986-1996
"Design Of A Decade" is Janet Jackson's first greatest hits album (and I'm sure there will be more to come) and there are a couple of great things about this album. Firstly it includes two great new songs "Runaway" and "Twenty Fourplay". Secondly it includes "The Best Things In Life Are Free" which has not been available on any of her previous albums and lastly it includes some of the greatest pop tracks of the last ten years. I feel that over this period she has produced much better songs than her more famous brother. The album shows just what a talent Janet is as the songs show how she has transcended the spectrum of music with dance based songs such as "What Have You Done For Me Lately", and "Miss You Much" pop based tracks like "Escapade" rock ... Luther Vandross embodied the soul slow ballad - the idle album for a candlelit dinner. One of my friends used to label his music as "foreplay music" and this album is an apt description. I remember going thru a bad breakup at the time and listening to "If Only for One Night" - does u up badly because it is such a good song. Other gems are "Here and Now" - the perfect wedding song, as well as "If this World Were Mine". Mamma Mia, soul from the soul.

Luther Vandross was born to sing! By the time his debut album hit the streets, Mr Vandross was already one of the most sought-after singers in the business. "Never Too Much" is an entertaining soulful album that showcased real music before synthesizers and drum machines were the norm.

Luther also established himself as an accomplished songwriter, producer and arranger. To prove this point, some two years after releasing his debut, Luther was collaborating with his musical idols: Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick and Diana Ross - not bad at all!

The album kicks off with the title track which is a bright and breezy up-tempo number. It has the kind of catchy chorus that you find yourself singing along to. Musically, it was produced ... Read More:
