I have most of Simply Red's CD's this one however is fab. The first 3 songs in the Greatest Hits album are some of their classics, Holding back the years just takes your breath away. The neighbours will complain tomorrow, I must keep the volume down. Its great, buy it today. Angie

Never mind the mention of 'explicit lyrics' in the title for this CD, the track 'Play' has had words removed to satisfy whatever overbearing record execs care about this stuff. I haven't checked the other tracks, that's enough for me to send this one back.

Well because anytime JJ (or J as she prefers to distance herself from the Madness of King Michael) is stuck for ideas, the team default to the generic formula tried to such effect in 1986. Staccatto vocal, lashed tightly over millimetrically precise drum and bass programming. Sparse digital production et voila! Control was so strong it caused her brother to delay the most important release of his life (following up Thriller) by a further year. Felt like writing a review of this one, after giving my copy a play last night. JJ's "1814" album is really worthwhile, successfully welding a "state-of-the-nation" social commentary and a good dance ethic. JJ grooves her way through "Rhythm Nation", "State Of The World", "The Knowledge", and the irrepressible "Miss You Much" before slowing things down a touch on the tremendous "Love Will Never Do". (And is that Herb Alpert doing a trumpet intervention?) The poignant "Livin' In A World" closes out the original side one of the original LP. The first solo album from a Dru Hill member provides a breath of fresh air for the R&B front. Sisqó's powerful vocals, combined with impressive production skills, result in one of the best albums of 1999/2000. Forget what you have read about the album,this is one of the finest collection of compositions Mick Hucknall has written,its a A list of tracks which are heavily bass driven,thoughtful ,powerful,inpressive.One of the best recordings in recent years

Mariah was the biggest-selling female of the 'Nineties, but overall she's never caught up with Madonna. This is a good album to listen to if you are not expecting very much from it. Best songs on here are scandalous, dance your cares away, strawberrez (check spelling!) and just for you. The first song , My Song is a total rip-off of Brandy - What about us. The intro is the same computer/enter password combination from Brandy's Full Moon album and TLC's Fanmail album. Everyone accuses Sugababes 'Supernatural' of copying 'What About Us' but this song is a total rip-off. Not as much fun as their first album, it seems they are taking themselves too seriously now. Bring back the garage!
