yeh. okay, so lee lee's had loads of albums out since this one and passed away three years on August 25th. However, i recently moved house and during transit my Aaliyah album snapped, so i went all out and bought a new one. This album is sick if you like the thick and heavy old skool beats, coz i was a fan of it then and still am now. Aaliyah showcases her voice in many ways especially with 'the one i gave my heart to' as well as the more well known tunes which always have me shaking my rump, like 'if your girl only knew', hot like fire and the 'one in a million'. enjoy!!!!

reviewers come and go but class is permanent. from the uplifting opening number - keeping my faith in you - through all the rest, this is an example of luthers vocally perfect ability. i like to sing on a karaoke. i have won a few competitions. but you try and sing like him. it cant be done. now to prove the point, luther did cover a lot of songs and he did that because he could. how many of his songs have been covered by other artists? indeed i think his version of the leo sayer classic - when i need you - is a million times better than the original. and thats on this album! and is worth the price on its own. so please listen again.

1st, this is not a compilation of Usher's lesser songs, its usher's debut album and its a complete album for a 15/16 year old usher @ that time. Wit tracks like can u get wit it, think of u, crazy, love was herre n the likes, u'll still find it betta than most r n b around today.

Gabrielle... The powerful opening of 'Forget About The World' sets the scene for a very good album. The South-London pop/soul singer's second album has a completely different focus to both its predecessor, Find Your Way, and the follow-up, Rise, which are both far more pop-orientated. On her self-titled album, Gabrielle has the most mature sound of the three albums and on most tracks it pays off - 'Give Me A Little More Time' and 'If You Really Cared' both sound like they come from the 60s and this is no criticism... after the brilliant ballads of 'People May Come' and 'I Live In Hope', they are a welcome move back in time. Not a new release but a very good one, with a contempary soul 'feel' to it. Luther's voice can actually be heard on most songs rather than being lost in too lush arrangements & productions that seem to be all to common to his records. Great tracks include "Any Day Now" & "Are You There Now" but the best by far are "Hearts Get Broken All the Time" & " I'd Rather" These songs are as good as anything Luther's ever done & better than most. If you love Luther you'll enjoy the album. Even if you don't love Luther but like soul music your enjoy those 2 songs especially!

Just when it seemed like Janet's musical career was never going to take off, out popped `Control' a crucial success, as well as signalling Janet's new found independence. Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis were recruited to produce this album, and blimey did they do a good job. The title track `Control' is upbeat, as well as lyrically explaining to us all that she is now free from all restraints, and by the sounds of it she loving every second, this is even more evident when you listen to `Nasty' it's a rebellious song with plenty of sexual references thrown in, then there's one of my personal favourites `When I Think Of You', not quite as upbeat, certainly not as explicit as some of the material on here, i can understand why this bouncy catchy pop track made the only ... Man, I long for singers to sing with this passion now-a-days, including Simply Red. The majority of this album was written when sad old Red (aka Mick Hucknall) was living in a box room council flat and boy was he firey back then. The resentment, love and sorrow he had for life is conveyed in every note sung on this album to a degree he never really was able to reproduce. Maybe it was the money. Ironic, since it was Moneys Too Tight To Mention that caterpaulted them to their peak. I love this album for not only its mood, not only his firey raw voice but also for the superb melody and music. The throbbing of the double bass, the jazzy piano solos, brass crescendos all brought together in the superb reverb drenched recording and engineering. We miss you Red.
