Best Album of 2008 so far.. (November!) Buy it, enjoy it love it. The only Kings of Leon track I've really enjoyed before was Red Morning Light. This Album has changed all that and I often listen to it on the way to work. I love it. Buy Van Occupanther by Midlake at the same time for a change of pace and divine aural pleasure. Enjoy!

4.5 stars would be a more appropriate score for this album, but in good mathematical practice I have rounded up not down. If you like Snow Patrol, this is a very good album. Any of the tracks could easily have come from their last album "Eyes Open", and the rockier ones could have been from "Final Straw". Does it have more of an accoustic or mellow balance than "Eyes Open"? A track by track by analysis may lead you to that conclusion, but I am not left with that impression having it on my ipod and in the car. All of which is great, you know what you are getting. JUST BUY IT! If you like/love Pink then this album is for you. Different to the other 4 but different is exceptional!!!

Once again Keane has failed to come up with the goods. After a fabulous first album and a disaster with Under the Iron Sea, Perfect Symmetry slips between the two with several tracks sounding like a second rate Killers tribute band. Why didn't they stick to the distinctive sound of Hopes and Fears instead of diluting their appeal by emulating the top Indie band.

With the critics who are ready to pounce on Oasis' weaknesses at any opportunity, it was always clear that this album would be met with greater anticipation than just about any other record of the last ten years. Whilst playing the CD for the first time, many of the tracks seem rather pedestrian. But, listen to it for a third or fourth time and the snarl and bite of "Bag It Up" and the overwhelming energy of "The Turning" will hit you like a right hook from the fist of Mike Tyson. No wonder we had to wait for over three years for the band's seventh studio album. After 3 highly successful albums, Coldplay have reached the stage where they can let go a bit in their music. `Viva la Vida or Death and all his friends' does exactly that, it is like their equivalent of Radiohead's `Kid A'. Despite the annoyingly long title, it seems now that it is widely accepted that the `Viva la Vida' is the much preferred shortening of the title. This is shown through the front cover of the album which doesn't even mention the latter part of the album title. `Parachutes', `Rush of Blood to the Head' and `X &Y', for me was a progression as each album was better than the previous. I bought this CD mainly because I wanted 'about you now'. The track on the CD is nothing like the single and I feel it's a cynical attempt to make you buy the single as well. Very disappointed.

Morrison's opening single The Only Night is an unusually upbeat pop record for the album, setting the mood for a mixed bag of gems that throw you a variety of moods from happiness to sorrow. The next two singles, Save Yourself and You Make It Real have James Morrison written all over them.. in a good way. There's a part of me that feels You Make It Real's chorus resembles a more down beat version Simply Red's stars, if only for a second or two. You Make It Real still manages to be an utterly original and sensual melody, paving the way for a variety of even more appealing single releases. THEN WHO WAS THE PILLOCK THAT CHOPPED THE FULL FADE OFF "THAT JOKE ISN'T FUNNY ANYMORE" BUT LEFT THE FULL TIMING ON THE SLEEVE???? ANOTHER BRILLIANT OPPORTUNITY WASTED....
