I love this. I think it's really great to be able to see The Black Parade in all it's epic glory, then get up close and personal in Hoboken. I preffered the NJ gig because there was more interaction with the audience, but even still the Mexico City blew me away with the explosions, etc. A must have for all of the MCRmy. End of.

If ever a modern day artiste could fill the mighty shoes of Marvin Gaye then It's Seal. Emerging from obscurity as the dreadlocked dude who added attitude to Adamski's Killer and made the summer of 1990, he then emerged with his own eponymous album in 1991. "Crazy", "Future Love Paradise" and a reworked"Killer" made great listening. But it was the slow growing"Seal" of 1994 which really blew me away. a perfectly formed shaven Seal is framed against a pure white background and an iconic image is formed. The songs are outstanding "Bring it On" "Prayer for the Dying" "Dream in Metaphors" are soul searching and soul soothing especially at the time when I was raw from being dumped by a then girlfriend. His best album to date (I've ordered the new live album - if it's anything like this & his perforamnce at Hyde Park it'll be incredible). Every song is superb - although "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" has to be the best song in the past year (& is also on the new live DVD/CD!). His music is hypnotic, classy, equisitely crafted. Enough! Buy!

The only compilation among a gazillion to span Orbison's Sun, Monument, MGM, and Virgin successes is a welcome add to the Essential series that now, post-merger, features RCA & Arista artists as well as Sony's. Roy Orbison is one of my absolute favorites. He simply may be the best rock 'n' roll singer ever. Amazon really should update the track listing to reflect the few re-recorded versions. While the originals should be here, the remakes are a legitimate part of Mr. Orbison's career. Roy's popularity was at a deeply undeserved lull circa 1987, when David Lynch used some Roy songs in his classic/eerie film "Blue Velvet." Saturday Night Fever was a phenomenon at the time of its release. The film and its soundtrack remain classic works. As well as the big hits from the movie there are a number of lesser known tracks here which featured in the film. If you're heading out after a hard working week put this album on, turn it up, open a drink and let the good times roll.

This album proved that Radiohead could produce excellent radio friendly rock music. It is full of brilliant songs. My favourites - Fake Plastic Trees, High & Dry and Street Spirit. Thom Yorke's bleak lyrics we have become so familiar with are present in here but perhaps not as obvious as in the later albums due to the strength of Greenwood's guitar in most tracks. It seems as though the band proved to themselves with this album that they could do the "Britpop" album. You have to admire them for moving on the "The Bends", which was very successful, to the more challenging directions taken in later albums. However this album stands on its own as a classic in its own right.

You gotta admit that this is the business when a quintet of South Londoners ignored the whole punk thing and got down to making music in the style of the 60s and 70s.Especially the 70s when Wings ruled. They said Difford & Tilbrook were the new Lennon & McCartney-thats the bands built in songwriting unit but though many times they were as good there were no takers for their songs other than their own original versions. Maybe Squeeze should do a covers album as Difford & Tilbrook make their own albums either solo or collectively. Maybe somebody should do a tribute album-with so much variety the songs could easily be done 50s style. I have to admit, i wasn't a big fan of Christina when she first came out. I thought she would just turn out to be a typical bubble-gum pop icon. However this album has proved me wrong. In a word, this album is AMAZING!! When i was growing up my parents would always be playing old soul and blues music, which i loved, this album is like a tribute to that style of music. I think other artists these days should go Back to Basics, and make good listening music rather than just club tracks all the time. Stand out tracks include: Makes me wanna pray, Back in the day, Ain't no other man, Understand and Mercy On Me.

can scarcely believe that with so many tracks 2 of my favourites are not there : I'm looking out the window ( isn't no 2 a big enough hit?), and Ocean Deep ( a regular fans favourite ). I could go on, but those 2 struck me immediately. I will save my £100!The 78 is a gimmick too....
