I am not one to use the word 'MASTERPIECE' freely. This is because these days, i feel most people overuse the word 'masterpiece' and i find this to be rather irritating. You know what i mean? Too many albums, films, etc are refered to as masterpieces when they are just ok or good. This album, however is NOT ok or good. It IS a masterpiece. Firstly, let me say, i am a rock fan. I was brought up on Heavy metal and punk. I'd lived in complete ignorence of Stevie Wonder until a friend recommended this album to me. At first, as you can probably guess, i was hesitant. Stop whining, snivelling, prevaricating. If you you want SMOOTH, SEAMLESS, CLEAN, go and listen to Boston. This is art. This is provocation. Its messy. Its difficult. I saw a bunch of these songs played live last night in Donegal, and it was extraordinary. Nobody else is doing this. Celebrate!

It's not as bad as Paul thinks, but he's mostly right the only songs that have any life at all are right at the end and he probably didn't endure the banality to listen that far. 'What it takes to win' & 'turn down the world tonight' have a little more gumption than the rest of this feeble offering and just happen to be the ones where the new singer isn't trying to mimic the old singer. 'The Journey' is an instrumental nod to their 70's incarnation and isn't too bad. As for the positive reviews this has recieved from others, I can only imagine they are desperate for Journey to keep going no matter what banal tripe they push out, listen to some classic albums from journey, this just doesn't make the grade. I purchased this after returning from a show, which I have seen a couple of times. Its quite a disapointment its not the same, some of the singers are poorer than in the show today. Its a memory jogger and I have made my own mix on CD by using original songs in the order of the show, NOW THAT ROCKS.

I bought this after hearing an acquaintance playing it. There is not a bad track on this album. Each one is sheer, haunting, lasting quality with an incredible and unique vocal style. I probably listen to it once a week. Despite having all the other albums, all of which have their own strengths and merits, I keep coming back to this one and find something new in each listen. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

i bought this album for the brilliant babylon track. so what do i find? not the single version but a weaker remixed version without the full backing. POOR! VERY DISAPPOINTING!

pinks try this tour is not quite as good as the im not dead tour i think this is because the new songs on pinks im not dead album are so much popular that it just doesnt measure up pink is defeniently a rock godess and all should bow down in front of her feet pink goes to such lengths to make her fans happy that she gets suspended up in the air sings live and does acrobotics pink is a good exaple of an all rounder she can sing dance and peforms infront of crowds fearlessly pink is definently a dedicated performer and nothing can stand in her way in this concert i absoulutedly luv luv luv pink with my life.

For me, this is ryan's 3rd best album (after gold and easy tiger) yet i still give it 5 stars, that pretty much says it all (I'm going to keep writing anyway). For me this was the starting point of better things to come, it is in itself a very good album with songs like 'oh my sweet carolina' and 'come pick me up' being personal highlights, it was a very good debut solo album and probably only comes behind the other two albums mentioned because it is maybe a little harder to get into. I still listen to this album a lot and is very much a must own for any fan of Mr Adams, although with the amount of work this guy releases i understand it can be hard to keep up!

Or the "Red Album" if you're losing track as this is the third self-titled Weezer album out of six. It's also the first since the debut (the Blue Album for those keeping track) to see Rivers Cuomo slightly loosen his autocratic leading of the band to let his bandmates show us their own songwriting chops. Things didn't seem all that promising at first; not only were there rumours that this album was to see a highly experimental Weezer but record label Geffen were apparently of the opinion that the album didn't have any hits on it. The result was Pork and Beans, the album's lead single and one written entirely as a sly knock to the label's opinions. The Album Is Brilliant, no question But if you are buying this album to put on your ipod prepare to be disapointed. Running a computer with only a DVD player the CD does not react to windows media player or Itunes as a music CD and insistes on only providing the DVD content. It is impossable for me therefor to get at a product i have paid for with good money. Highly annoying.
