Ah Phil Spector. If we just forget about his recent craziness and concentrate on the music pre 1980. A great compilation, covering the infamous 'wall of sound'. However, the Teddys 'to know him is to love him' is missing from this collection. Strange as this is the song that launched him. Had this been included, it would get five stars. Legends always let you down don't they?

One might be tempted to call "Warm Leatherette" Grace Jones' debut album. She recorded three disco albums with Tom Moulton back in the late '70s, but none of them managed to give her a commercial breakthrough. This is by all means a truly phenomenal album by Grace. It's a mixture of genres. From rock to soul, and from new wave to country. And everything in between. It is mostly an album of covers, but Grace completely blows the originals out of the water. Her cover of the Normal's "Warm Leatherette" is stunning, and her cover of the Pretenders' "Private Life" makes the original seem completely irrelevant. But that is her ability. The ability to make each song completely her own. She is of course backed by the finest band in Jamaica, and that ... Read More:

Cracking album, better even than the last studio album! Alicias vocals never fail to stir the emotions and even though she doesnt always hit the top spot in this country, that's no reason to give her the wide shoulder.

Superb, quality vocals saturate every track and are full of emotion rather than being just technically perfect.

Standout tracks for me include the unbelievably fantastic Superwoman, the punchiness of No One and the old school soul of Where Do We Go From Here.

I suspect Alicia will be around for a good while yet!

Don't get me wrong this album is really good, but i feel her first album is better. Here's a review of each song:
SOS-10/10 A brillant choice for the first single, a great dance tune
Kisses don't lie-10/10 A great pop/rock tunes one of my favourites off the album
Unfaithful-10/10 Written by ne-yo,it would defo be a hit which it was i think it went to number 2,i loved this song, but then i got bored of it coz it was being overplayed but now i love it again
We ride-7/10 A good song from rihanna but not one of her best, i don't think it should have been released as a single
Dem haters feat dwane husbands-10/10 A great tune about how to deal with haters
Final goodbye-10/10 A nice ballad from rihanna
Break it off feat sean paul ... Read More:

I am not one to use the word 'MASTERPIECE' freely. This is because these days, i feel most people overuse the word 'masterpiece' and i find this to be rather irritating. You know what i mean? Too many albums, films, etc are refered to as masterpieces when they are just ok or good. This album, however is NOT ok or good. It IS a masterpiece.
Firstly, let me say, i am a rock fan. I was brought up on Heavy metal and punk. I'd lived in complete ignorence of Stevie Wonder until a friend recommended this album to me. At first, as you can probably guess, i was hesitant. Its not rock, i thought, why would i like it? Eventually i yielded and got a copy, expecting to give away after i'd heard it once. How wrong i was. This album is a genuine work of genius. Stevie pours ... Read More:

pinks try this tour is not quite as good as the im not dead tour i think this is because the new songs on pinks im not dead album are so much popular that it just doesnt measure up pink is defeniently a rock godess and all should bow down in front of her feet pink goes to such lengths to make her fans happy that she gets suspended up in the air sings live and does acrobotics pink is a good exaple of an all rounder she can sing dance
and peforms infront of crowds fearlessly pink is definently a dedicated performer and nothing can stand in her way in this concert i absoulutedly luv luv luv pink with my life.

Like the sea itself, Maiden Voyage is vast and epic- flirting with adventure and myth. It is Herbie Hancock's tour de force- what the wonderous Speak No Evil was to his Blue Note peer, Wayne Shorter- ie. representing the composer/pianist at his imaginitive peak. We can only imagine what kind of zone Freddie Hubbard, George Coleman, Ron Carter and Tony Williams must have been during the recording of this masterpiece- so wonderfully coherent yet brimming with subtle musical conflict. And Hancock's playing is simply majestic.

The opening track is stunningly simple- you might feel a little uninspired by the low-key opening, but then, all of a sudden, it all opens out beautifully during the trumpet solo. This short flourish embodies the enitre tone of the album and indeed ... Read More:

This is a great album! There's some fantastic tracks on here! Mostly dance tracks. Produced by the legendary Stuart Price who co-produced Madonna's mega hit "Confessions On A Dancefloor" album! The irony is that this is Seal's lowest selling album! Usually when critics say something is crap, it's actually good, and when something doesn't become too popular and mainstream, it's a secret gem.. For those of us clever enough to stumble across... This is one of those gems... Just buy it! :)
