Absolutely fab. In my opinion best tracks are Step up and Bout it but there ain't a bad track on this album! Petey Pablo's tune is amazing too. You have to watch the movie then check this soundtrack out! Well worth the money. When you listen to this album it will seriously make you get up,take notice and dance!!! LOVE IT! x

After the slightly disappointing "Mercenary" album this is a wellcome return to form for the good Doctor.This album sees him offering a spicey gumbo of pop,jazz,soul,funk,blues and a hint of voodoo.If you liked the "Creole moon" album then you'll love this one.Like most of his albums these days there is a sprinkling of guest stars like Eric Clapton,Willie Nelson and jazz trumpeter Terence Blanchard to add to the mix.The album title gives you a clue as to the basis of the songs for this album with most of them penned by Mac himself.The pick of the album is in fact the title track "The city that..." which is a slow voodoish blues with Dr john digging deep for some real feeling and "Dream warrior" is a voodoish funk with a nice tight rhythm.Songs ... You could play a fully credible disco night armed with nothing more than these five cds. If a definitive chart was made of the 500 top tunes from the dance decade of 1975-1984 this set would claim an absolute minimum of 50 places. One ill informed reviewer knocks legenary weekender tunes on CD3 as fillers and bemoans the lack of Abba, Bee Gees and Dexy's Midnight Runners. It's precisely that absence which makes this such a credible set. I already owned perhaps 80 or 90 of these tracks but the purchase was well worth it for Janice Macclain's Smack Dab in the Middle and then again for the huge grin that spread across my face when I heard Wikka Wrap again for the first time in twenty years. Chaka Khan was at her height between 1978 - 1985 in the UK, during that period she had 4 top twenty hits. Her first hit was the disco smash I,m Every Woman which charted at #11. Discotheques across the land could be heard playing this track with its orchestrial influence. Strangely enough when remixed and re-released it reached #8. Her #1 hit I Feel For You plus Remix versions of This Is My Night #14 and Eye To Eye #16 a full eight and a half minutes worth are also here. Yvette Marie Stevens to give her her maiden name started out with the 1970,s funk band Rufus and included on this cd is my personal favourite Aint Nobody which i had on 12inch vinyl way back in 1983. Bought the Sunday Mail a few days ago (Sunday 30 August 2008) in order to get this album for free. Yes free! And quite frankly, unless you are into "Girlie Bands" then you'd only want this to play for your girlfriend or wife in order to put her in a good mood. I got the album to build up my ever increasing CD collection and, as a part-time DJ, I'm bound to be asked for some obsolete songs - and you couldn't get more obsolete than All Saints. When I heard they were splitting up the first time I was thrilled. It was only bettered when B*witched split. Then, a few years later, they re-formed and it was a nightmare come true. The GREATEST SINGER EVER !!!! There are many great singers in this world but Aretha's in a class no one can top. My Elite List (which includes Aaron Neville and other legends) has Aretha at the TOP !!! That voice is from a place none of us will ever get to. Angels blessed Aretha's vocal chords and went back and blessed them again. This album has so many unbelievable classic songs. Aretha is one of my heroes. If I could sing like her for the day it would be a dream. An outstanding album. Listen with amazement. Enjoy every second. You will love every song. Aretha...THANK YOU SO MUCH. This album is so terrible. Infact the tracks were so terrible I sent mine back. If you want to listen to proper music, listen to REM and THE BEATLES.

Ive been a steward at the North Wales Theatre at Llandudno for over five years and have seen the Stylistics on four occasions and they are still one of the most professional and harmonious soul coloured groups in the business. I have also met them in person and was very impressed with their willingness to sign their cds this one included and pose for photographs and also have a chat with admiring fans.Some people ive met not saying any names are the direct opposite of their stage personality but the Stylistics are really pleasant guys. Their music on the other hand is superb with gorgeous harmonies not dissimilar to the BeeGees but very Motown Soul.
