I have been a fan of this lady since the beginning, and yes I am very biased towards her and her music. But in my humble opinion I dont think she has ever made a bad record and that is some achivment in this day and age, the greatest female voice backed up by the one and only Pips. If you only have one record in your collection make it this one..........

This is a great compilation with an inspired combination of recent hits and old massive tunes. It's worth buying for the first CD alone but if, like me, you do not have all the tracks on back catologue then, at 5 CDs, it's fantastic value for money.

I have to say that, for a debut album, it's not bad - he's got a few really good tracks in here. Justin's Pop roots was pulled out then replaced with R&B and light hip-hop. Some of the songwriting is downright corny lyrically but several of the songs were well done by the Neptunes and Timbaland, they made this album more than Justin. The ballads are not that great to me but the dance tracks are well done. The tracks that stand out to me are "Cry Me a River", "Rock Your Body", "Senorita", "Last Night", "Still On My Brain", "What You Got (Oh No)", and "Let's Take a Ride". i could write a review about how life changing this album was to me but ill leave that for anyone lucky enough to hear this absolute classic for the first time. the musical spectrum on one cd. marvellous

I think that ZZ Top are a very good band and they remain one of my favorite bands of all-time. this is one great collection and they made great blues music in the 1970s and the 1980s. here are my comments about most of the songs. GIMME ALL YOUR LOVING this is a really great song and is my 2nd favorite song on the entire cd. SHARP DRESSED MAN this is pretty great too, but probably my 5th favorite. ROUGH BOY is a ballad that is too slow and too sad for me. TUSH is an excellent blues rocker remains one of my 5 favorites on this album. MY HEAD'S IN MISSISSPII is a blues rocker one of my favorites, PEARL NECKLACE not my fave, IM BAD IM NATHIONWIDE this is pretty good although remains as a 10th favorite or something. Just suppose a Martian arrived at your doorstep and wanted to know about "Soul Music" - this is what you would play. Aretha was at the very height of her powers, and all this stuff - demos amd out takes for me are even more enjoyable than what was released at the time. You will hear Aretha with sparce backing and mimimal production, going places only she could - she grabs hold of a song amd makes it her own - and only Joe Cocker rivals that special talemt. It is amazing these wonderful sounds have been kept in the vaults for so long - but I am so grateful this stuff has appeared. By a mile the greatest ever Aretha collection - worth easily 10x the typical reail price. This is an essential purchase - but be warned this is the real thing - it'll make you cry. Sadly after ... Beyoncé was always going to be the most famous one of Destiny's Child, taking creative control behind the group, she was and still is a huge star. I imagine most people will have bought this album on the basis of the strong singles. This however doesn't stop her producing a really bad debut record. After the singles, the rest of the album heads into slow jam / ballad territory which really bogs the record down and makes it quite boring. Download the songs you like and forget the rest.

I like many others recently dug this cd out of my collection.Most of you will think you are familiar with this work but let me assure you that you are not!!! The melodies and beats on this album are beyond ctiticism even for those of you that do not like hip-hop.A soulful set that will; in time, without question be regarded as a swansong to the twentieth century.Truly a classic which I think the fact no follow up album has been released testifies to the musical genious of Ms.Hill.How exactly do you follow up hip-hop/soul/r'n'b perfection? Lyrically and musically this album set a benchmark that has not really been matched within black music.
