Listening to this cd takes me somewhere very special. It's as if some kind of bliss comes over me and I feel carried away... It's absolutely amazing and I plan to hear other cds by Snatam to see if the effect is the same.

Right Time has to be the Mighty Diamond best album. This trio group without doubt is one of the best groups to come out of Jamaica.

This was the very first Trojan box set that I bought a few years ago, If I'm feeling a bit chilled out I always play this first. I really do love the tracks from the amazing Roots Radics band, but this is a very diverse compilation which I think is esential in your reggea collection. As the title to this review says: Great intro to dub.

I bought this in a rush and on the basis of the 2 previous glowing reviews. I've only recently started really exploring world music and am always looking for compilation albums that might offer new gems to follow up. This album just doesn't do the job. Of the people I'd already heard of and styles of music I already knew about, the track selection turned out to be decidedly dodgy. And that really didn't give me much confidence in the rest of the choices. Overall I was completely underwhelmed. This seems to me to be a bland, hastily put together album that jumps on the world music bandwagon without much care or knowledge behind it. A great Smash Mouth album. With 20 tracks and 1 hour, 1 minute and 25 seconds (if you're being precise)of music on it you happily rock on for ages. Thoroughly enjoyable.

What I hate the most is people's attitude's towards UB40. People who think they aren't a "proper" reggae band just because they aren't Jamaican! Well, any listens to this shows they can play it proficiently and give it their own identity, not least due to the distinctive harmonies of Ali and Robin Campbell. From the anti-Thatcher early stuff to the more commercial but melodic pop-reggae they play now, they never get boring or samey, although the cover of "I Got You Babe" is the only damp squib.

Maxi Priest burst onto the reggae scene in 1984 and he was an instant success for UK reggae fans. Everything he did topped the reggae charts but by 1990 he reached no.1 in the US Billboard 100 with the hit "Close To You". He was now an international superstar. All his hits are here so it's a great album if you are completing your CD collection. It also features collaborations with artists such as Shabba Ranks, Tiger, Beres Hammond and Aswad. Buy this to remember how good things were before dancehall took over. (Not that there's anything wrong with dancehall reggae!)
