who the hell listens to this dull, uninspiring excuse for music, it basically consists of a complete TW**!, wandering around strumming nonsensical 'happy' tunes about absolutely nothing, I just dont get it but I suppose its a measure of how completey inane and pointless the current music scene is.

James Morrison reminds me of Terence Trent Derby with his distinctive vocals and cut down style, very few musical instruments, often just acoustic guitar and drums.Echoes of Stevie Wonder and chords and melodies that have a passing resemblance to other artists' songs complete the mix.I really like this album but it wasn't one that i liked first time of hearing. It's an album you need to play and let it grow on you. It's a little raw and naive in places and a little like a live recording of a busker on a city street corner. No bells and whistles, just a guy relying and believing in his talent. This gives it some originality and credit to James Morrison on producing a stunning album that may not be for everyone but will be enjoyed by most.Recommended.

All in all this was decent to listen to. I loved Avril Lavigne's cover of The Scientist (although some bits were out of tune) and plenty more good listening from this double album. good choice opening with the foos!

recommended!

Making a second album was never going to be an easy thing for Arcade Fire, Funeral was possibly the worst type of debut album a band could make being that it was absolutely amazing and possibly the best album of the last 20 years. The logical thing to do after making an album that good is to realise it's impossible for you to top it and just not even try...luckily this is not what Arcade Fire do. The band fully realise they can't ever make another Funeral, so instead of trying to make Funeral Part 2, the band instead decide to head in a different musical direction. The thing you've got to realise is that this album is not and will never be Funeral, you can't even really compare the two they're leagues apart and both are completely brilliant in different ... If you are a massive fan of their old sound, of the Nu metal, then you should definitely avoid this album. If you are a music fan with an open mind then you should definitely purchase this. The sound that they have created is incredibly different. I really don't know why they changed that much. Once I like a band's sound I really don't like it when they try and reinvent themselves to change that, and that's exactly what Linkin Park have done here. I bought Meteora as my first Linkin Park album back in 2003 and I instantly loved it. The sound of the music was so unique, and to a 13 year old, pretty surprising as well. Meteora was the band's pinnacle and it is such a fantastic album. Then, after a couple of years of no activity from the band, I was highly ... Read More:

This is an excellent set collecting together in a convenient single disk the best of G'n'R. But if you want an introduction to the band you should purchase the 1st album no question as its one of the greatest rock albums of all time. What this Greatest Hits collection does is bring together all the best bits from the other 4 albums plus the odd single. There are only 3 'taster' tracks from the first album here so its no hardship to buy the 1st album and this one together (especially as the former is so inexpensive). That's why this is the perfect companion set to the first album. If you are still hungry after that then dive into the others. No serious fan of hard rock, or for that matter any fan of contemporary music, can afford not to have a healthy selection of ... Read More:

A friend of mine called 'Mike the Bike' put me on to 'Rumours' an age ago. As his name suggests, Mike was a wretched 'macho' biker, (a contradiction to start with - a man who wears leather and goes out to meet...other men!) who used to shoot razorbacks when he lived in Australia. That sounds impressive, til' you consider your average razorback is about the size of a cairn terrier, but Mike apparently loved every blood-spilling minute of it.
Anyway, in normal life I'd rather sleep with a razorback than take a musical recommendation from Mike. He's firmly in the 'metal' enclave, he and his road-tearing associates live in a jelly outside time and listen to Queens of the Stone Age and Kings of Leon when they're not burning rubber on the (real) Queens highways and byways. ... i cant believe i hear this album now! having recently bought the brilliant Leaders Of The Free World I wanted to discover Elbow. Then I listened to Cast Of Thousands next which i included in my top 10 album list. but then I listened to this album and I was totally knocked off my feet! I just love it. this is music! reading other reviews I was deeply dissapointed they were compared to other bands. some of the reviews which compare elbow to say coldplay would have put off buying this record. If u like music then get all the albums by Elbow. Another band I thought I should recommend is I Am Kloot.

This album can in no way be described as groundbreaking-but who cares-it takes the best parts of 'Smile' and builds upon them-for me 'Smile' was good and at times great, but it didn't quite work as a whole, whereas this album most definitely does and to be honest there's not a bad track on it:
1.The Devils Beat-Not a great choice of single, but I do like it and it probably is the most original track. 7.5/10
2.Shape I'm In-Generic pop and I love it! Catchy and melodic; brill vocals! 9/10
3.Wounded Hearts-My least favourite song on the album-forgettable. 6/10
4.Saturday Night-Catchy pop ditty! 8/10
5.Beatbox-Growing on me immensely, an intelligent song. 8/10
6.Remote Control Me-Great fun and what Sandi does absolutely best! 10/10

This is a truly excellent album. THe acoustic sets are superb and show John Mayer off as the brilliant guitarist that he is. The trio sets and in deed some of the full band songs sound very much like Jimmie Vaughan. It is excellent, the songs are his best, from all previous album, but live. The small twiddly bits between/ leading into songs are very good and original. I would definitely recommend this any day to anyone who like rock, blues or jazz.(I mostly listen to metal by Mayer is the Jazz man that I like, he is a shinning example for all those in his genre) *****. Buy it.
