I've never given the Foo Fighters the time or day, just never really got into them post Nirvana. Bought this album upon recommendation by a Foo fan. Upon first listen (whilst clearing out the garage) I knew there was something very important happening to me. Quite simply at that moment I became an instant Grohl/Foo fan. Having now backtracked on most of the Foo's catalogue from my own perspective, this is not only my favourite of theirs but quite possibly the most important 'rock' album in my CD collection and remains a permanent fixture in the car ! with such a mass of material to choose from,it is difficult for any record label to put together a 'good' collection that shows the entire range of Elvis' great songs but this goes a long way toward it. Well worth the place on the shelf.

The only thing that needs to be said about this album is BUY IT, it's the best live album ever. Simple as.

I hadn't heard any Mogwai before. Listened to this album on their myspace page and really liked. Sometimes happy but mostly moody soundtracks to films never made but probably should have been. I can imagine Shane Meadows making a film with a Mogwai soundtrack. A bit of Sonic Youth, a bit of shoegazing, a bit of Pink Floyd, it even reminds me a bit of some Pat Metheny stuff. Whatever it is it's worth listening too. Buy without hesitation if you like proper grown up sounds.

I can rant about how beautiful Gary Sinise is another day, but now, this is all about The Who. The Who. Who are they you migh ask. Who are The Who? How can you answer a quistion like that... They are maybe the best British band ever. They are unique. Sensational, brillaint and have fancy hair. (Not pointing at anyone, Roger. XD) If I ever met someone named Baba O'Riely, i'd tell her to stop crying, we all live in a Teenage Wasteland anyway... And The Who made that Teenage Wasteland a better place...

They plod along like a third rate pub band with all the musical inspiration of a brain dead gnat. NOBODY is going to be inspired to become a lead guitarist by listening to this lot plod along.

will young is fab his voice is soulfull and unique like amy winehouse i like singers that are different and distinctive amy winehouse,karen carpenter,freddie mercury etc this a very good pop easy listening album he deserved to win pop idol im 21 and was young when he won i wanted him too win right through pop idol i could see he had a voice that could grown and be better he is still young now and his voice is cool gareth gates who? LOL gareth relied on looks more then talent his voice was wimpy my opinion though i think will will be around for years to come his new album let it go should be good changes is a grower the new song!! its took me anges to review this album i have loads of music and lots of taste in music getting round to reviewing them all LOL buy this its good!! happy ... I had of course always been aware of the Beach boys, but being a 17 year old brit, they were never top of my 'to listen list'. However I saw a rhcp cover of I get around,liked it, and decided to buy a complation of beach boy songs to take on my summer holiday. Needless to say they are now one of my favourite bands up there with the Ramones and the Beatles. This compliation, as an introduction, is really good. It has all of the biggest hits. However going back to it now after hearing the likes of Pet sounds, sunflower and all summer long, I cant help but feel that some of the best songs are missing. The likes of 'Wendy', 'All summer Long', and later masterpeices like 'forever' are nowhere to be seen. But as an introduction, this is really good.

This is not their best album, worth listening to, definitely. I would urge you to buy it but if it's a choice of different muse albums go for Black Holes and Revelations. Very good lyrics and the songwriting is upto scratch as usual. Still very good.

4.6 stars. Two female vocalists, it sounds great, they compliment each other really well, plenty of excellent and groovy sounds. Stirring stuff, creates images, goes along, tracks 3, 7 and 9 in particular real stone grooves, a wide range of styles; witness Sempiternal/Amaranth at over 11 minutes long. The whole album's very good, very nice. Not a particularly insightful review, I appreciate, but I wanted this band to score well on the old Amazon rating system. If it helps, the beginning of White Elephant Coat sounds like it could be from 1970.0
