The score for the film The Nightmare before Christmas is brilliant in its own strange way. Both the music and the lyrics are written by Danny Elfman, and he also sings the main character of jack Skellington.
The songs are delightful and variated, and you discover something new in the arrangement, every time you listen to them. Besides, the instrumental tracks are beautiful and melancholy, a nice contrast to the humourous and often lively songs. If you like the film or are just a little bit interested in music, you should definetly buy this CD. It has so many great tunes, and the orchestration is just perfect. All in all, a soundtrack quite out of the ordinary.

This is certainly the most amazing soundtrack that Disney has produced, proven by the fact that it has won awards for its brilliance. The music is absolutely mind-blowing, and there is something there to touch every emotion, from the dramatic "Circle of Life," to the beautiful heart-wrenching "Can You Feel The Love Tonight," the fun, bouncy "I Just Can't Wait to be King" and "Hakuna Matata," and of course there's no forgetting the dark "Be Prepared." There is, of course, the wacky "Morning Report" which, despite being very good in its own right, does not match up to the others, it being an additional song for the Special Addition. Of course, it is not only the Elton John/Tim Rice songs which make up the brilliance of this soundtrack. Hans Zimmer's ... Read More:

A soundtrack, but don't let that put you off. This is a compelling mix of arrangements and emotion that evokes the spirit of the mass emigration from Ireland beginning with the famine.

Stand-outs for me - in the good sense - are a sensational 'Skibbereen' from Sinead O'Connor and 'Where you at the Rock?' from the (Norwegian?) singer Sissel. Both might sound unlikely successes but are spine-tinglers in the way they get to the painful and yet somehow lyrical core of the experience. Liam O Maonlai's 'White Potatoes' is also very good.

And then you also have Elvis Costello, Van the Man, Mary Black and the Chieftains - but don't think this is a purely commercial recording filled up with big stars. Excellent stuff.

Anyone who LOVES this movie will love this improved soundtrack, with the tracks in the order they are played in the film. Every song will have you reminiscing the exact scene it's from.... from the opening Be my Baby with the slow-mo dancing to the ultimate goosebump moment of "The Lift" during I've Had the Time (extended version in this CD).

This is an amazing album even if you have never heard of One Tree Hill, although those that have will certainly appreciate the emotion of the songs.

Some stand out tracks include When The Stars Go Blue, it is truly an amazing cover, i only wish there was the other Bethany Joy Lenz songs on this album. Also good is Glad by Tyler Hilton and i love The Good Kind by the Wreckers. Sheryl Crow's accoustic 'First Cut' is definately a skip to moment.

This soundtrack will help fans remember so good moments of the series and possibly encourage people to watch One Tree Hill as the music is as key as the characters and writers.

The way to buy this is the De Luxe Edition as you get a further 15 songs.
Eddie Izzard's Mr Kite is the odd one out here-its quite atrocious and doesn't need all the added on comedy
