I had never experienced Sweeney Todd before this film came along. As a fan of musicals, the actors Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter and the director Tim Burton, I was bound to enjoy the film. What I did not expect, was to enjoy it so much. I am sure I would never have gone to see the musical on stage, having not seen this film first. I now look forward to the experience with pleasure.

I enjoy soundtracks of musicals almost as much as the real thing, and this did not disappoint, a fact I shall be relishing in for the next few months for sure, as I get to know the tracks as well as other favourites such as The Phantom of the Opera and Wicked.

I would recommend this to virtually anyone.

Doctor Who Original Music from Series Three

The Doctor Who music just keeps getting better and better. The album begins with the track 'All The Strange, Strange Creatures', an overall theme for the entire series. It's very fun to listen to. There are so many good tracks on this album, it's hard to pick a few and write about them. 'The Carrionites Swarm', 'Boe', 'Yana', 'Martha's Quest' and 'This Is Gallifrey: Our Childhood, Our Home' are the ones that stand out for me. They are epic and profound, and very addictive. A previous reviewer complained that the song 'My Angel Put The Devil In Me' (for the episode Daleks Of Manhattan') was sung by a different woman to the one who sung it in the actual episode, but I prefer the album version. ... This album has has never been far away from my CD player since it was released around 23 years ago. The music surprised a lot of people at the time because it wasn't completely representative of the Abba style. In the theatre the music is completely overwhelming. I managed to see the production 3 times, twice with the original cast and that is why I would recommend this recording above all others. Some of the players are different but the American, Russian & Florence were as heard on the CD's. The Swedish touring version mentioned further down is excellent, in that it includes the ending as we knew it & other bits and pieces. Still vocally this is the superior version and no one has sung Florence better than Elaine Paige. A pity it wasn't recorded ... Read More:

Having seen a pro-am production of this show I can say that it is fantastic.I have seen it three times, and at each performance there has been a standing ovation. The musical numbers are wonderful. Take a listen and judge for yourself.

Pete and Dud, sometime in the early seventies, mutated into Derek and Clive, a pair of Tory-voting, heavy-drinking, football-loving toilet attendants who have an opinion on everything, think the world's gone mad and are deeply embarrassed by women. For Derek and Clive, everything went downhill after the death of Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper. And it's this peculiarly British mindset - a combination of drunken menace and a willingness to talk utter nonsense for several minutes at the drop of a hat - that the two erstwhile satirists tap into over the course of the three Derek and Clive albums. There are more 'real life' Dereks and Clives around than you might think. 'Come Again' is by far the most outrageous and offensive of the albums ('Ad Nauseum' tries hard, ... Read More:

Excellent compilation of Craig Armstrongs film music.
Armstrong truly is a rare talent in film music scoring - these days, each composer whose name you might recognise has their own tricks that crop up time and again. Hans Zimmer has the 'soulful voice as instrument and Wagnerian epic themes', Jerry Goldsmith has the 'lush string sound with simple effective meolodies', Vangelis has the epic soaring themes market cornered...
But Craig Armstrong truly uses a large repertoire of tools to achieve whatever is needed for a certain film. This album contains romantic soft melodies gently played (Love Actually Glasgow Love theme), Driving modern dance style beats ('Ball' from Plunckett and Maclean), epic Carl Orff style choir and orchestra ... Whilst watching the film, I always thought that Johny Cash sang the OST, In fact it was Joaquin Phoenix. Ring of Fire and Walk the Line are classics , and are enhanced by Phoenix's rendition. Likewise, Reese Witherspoon's rendition of June Carter is equally impressive.

When Footloose came out in 1984, it was an instant hit. Everybody I knew raced out to see it, and a lot of the tunes from it became hits. Well, celebrating the 15th anniversary of the release of the movie, this CD was released with all of the tunes digitally remastered! In fact, as a bonus, this CD has four tracks that were not on the original album.

OK, what can I say? This CD isn't just the soundtrack of the movie Footloose, it's almost a soundtrack of 1984! Among its great tunes are Footloose, Let's Hear It For The Boy, and a tune I really love, Holding Out For A Hero. Yep, I love this CD. If you are into 1980s music, then this is a great album to get!

I'd recomend highly of not buying this CD, unless you intend to use it in a video (so that it isn't protected).
Why not buy the CD? Its a very good CD and film, yes, but the songs are 90% useless without the videos, like Beelzeboss. Beelzeboss is a rock off with Satan, with amazing dancing (in a sarcastic way) so, the video is kind of important for this and many others. I tried listening to Beelzeboss, didn't feel the same. There's not much point in buying it, unless ya gonna use it in a film of somekind. Best option for you is too download the videos off of google-video (this is still staying legal these options), purchasing off of Itunes or various other options you may find (perhaps filming it ya-self).

Music : The Snowman (Blake)
The Snowman absolutely makes Christmas for me. The bittersweet story always reminds me that nothing is forever; we should cherish the time we have.

Looking in the Children's Xmas songs category, I noticed that this CD was the top result. I'm so happy to see that so many others appreciate this work as much as I do.
