A good range of moods in the songs but full of superb jokes and showcasing some genuine comedic and musical talent. Worth noting that the more risque songs are included in their entirety so may be an idea to avoid playing it in front of your elderly grandparents or in the background at children's parties.

If you liked the series you will love the sound track. You will end up in a world of your own plus it's so relaxing just make sure you don't leave the kettle on!

I saw the film and really liked it, so I bought this. Unfortunately, on this version of the CD all of Jennifer Hudson's powerful songs are 'highlight' versions, so not the ones used in the film...The CD isn't bad, but it wasn't what I wanted...I am going to try the deluxe version.

This audio CD book, alongside with other Naxos educational CDs for children, is absolutely fantastic. It contains loads of information, so adults interest is guaranteed as well as children's fascination. It's a must for curious little minds. Presented in an easy listening format, it educates and enterntains at the same time. Boring car journeys became a highly enjoyable and educational experiences in our family since Naxos CDs were purchased. Being non-fiction, they can be listened to over and over again, offering a chance for the child to remember and/or understand more details each time.

I bought this album after a search as basically I could not get the theme music out of my head after 40 plus years. The haunting themes remain one of the great TV programme soundtracks. They were never obtrusive but added to the atmosphere to a stupendous series. Much recommended to all 40 somethings and makes this reviewer wish for the simpler life and entertainment we had in those halcyon days of the 60's and 70's

Most musical recordings seem choppy mostly because they are, and are rendered from the stage play, so of course they wouldn't make that much sense. MY FAIR LADY holds up well and you don't get this sense. The entire ablum is a gem and there's not a sour note in it.

I have Condidence that nobody can call themselves a true affectionado of Sound of Music without this CD. It contains the original 16 pieces from the film, beautifully sung by Maria, the Captain, the Children and the Chorus, plus eleven bonus tracks that make this CD even more of "something good", wiht exetended music, additional verses and esxtra soundtrack used on the film. Rodger and Hammerstein outdo any other musical ever written herein, and this CD is worth every penny.

Sorry, but if this is supposed to be the official movie soundtrack then why isn't the title track here? I have the soundtracks to all 21 Bond films (to date) and as much as I'm a fan, leaving out the title track seriously undermines this CD as an official product to back up the film. 1 star only I'm afraid.

Many people wondered what the outcome would be when Polish pianist Vangelis (pronounced Van-jealous) teamed up with Jon Anderson of The Yes. And the results were much better than expected. Vangelis improvised on the keyboards while Anderson sang random collections of words and the result was quite entertaining. Their real scoop of the project was managing to tape the late Humphrey Bogart and James Cagney for the song "Friends of Mister Cairo" in what turned out to be the last recorded performance of both actors. Sadly the partnership ended when Vangelis took a wrong turn on a drive to Andersons house ended up at the home of noted actor and film producer, Lord David Attenborough.
