I purchased these CDs individually as and when they were originally released. I have to say that the Fellowship of the Ring is my favourite, by the way. However, I also bought the extremely deluxe 4 disc (or in the case of ROTK, 5 disc) sets when the 'complete' scores were released (also worth buying, despite their price). One thing the 'complete' scores don't have is the first track from FOTR - "The Prophecy" (though parts of it exist in the 'complete' score). If you're a soundtrack enthusiast, then small variations or alternate takes presented here in the 'limited' 1-disc releases will interest you. This CD is great but not top notch there are a few bits of music missing the interview with the music writers is a rare insight to what they do and what can happen. Most of the songs are here but some aren't but it is still enjoyable CD and the interview is a nice extra there is another Mary Poppins CD out there which has every bit of music on it.

I love this cd; It remembers me my childhood and my teenager years!! I saw the movie at the cinema when I was 12 years old and I purchased it on vinyl; now, when I found it on the cd format, I bought it inmediately!! The songs are beautiful and in excellent condition, without scratch and in a very good restoration!! buy it!!

Possibly the best album of all time. Kermit has an especially fantastic voice, a cross between an early Cat Stevens and David Gray in his latest album, Life in Slow Motion. However, I think his rendition of One More Night till Christmas perhaps eclipses both these two great artists. I had heard rumours of a contract with Sony BMG and a solo career, but have no idea why it hasn't materialised. The song Love Is Gone is also an absolute classic, and brings tears to my eyes, especially the second version Track 18, which is perhaps the stand-out song of the entire album (which is saying a lot). Michael Caine also impressed me, and although not perhaps with quite the same talent as Kermit, or even Tiny Tim (whom reminds me of a young Aled Jones, and I believe ... Read More:

Hairspray the musical is based on the excellent original film, but the music is even better. The soundtrack is a joy to listem to from start to finish. The first song on the soundtrack is "Good Morning Baltimore" a very upbeat number that leaves you wanting more, as the CD goes on it just gets better and better ending on a high with "You can't stop the beat". My favourite song is "I can hear the Bells" where Tracy declares her undying love for Link. The CD has all sorts on it, sad, happy, funny songs but they all have the 1960's feel to it, making you wish you were part of that era.

'The count' really seems to divide people into love or loathe camps, so you really shouldn't buy this unless you've heard him and fall into the former category. It's hard to pin down exactly why he is so funny, and like 'League of Gentlemen' or 'I'm sorry I haven't a clue', you'll either 'get it' or you won't. Personally, he makes me laugh like a slithering giberate, blithering sibarate, erm, simpering celebate, oh for pitty's sake, you know what I mean!!!

Here it is! Many of the most popular christmas songs from yesteryear. Christmas would'nt be christmas without Andy Williams. With his jazzed up singing style Andy throws life into the songs on this cd & makes it a real joy to listen to! If you want a really good traditional christmas CD then this is it!! 10/10

I have no idea how well the movie "The Commitments" actually did in the UK, but I saw it when it opened here in Denmark twelve or thirteen years ago, and the soundtrack was a huge hit, not least with people of my generation who usually didn't listen to 60s soul music (I was about 18 at the time). This is a wonderful colletion of gritty soul and R&B with a bluesy edge, the arrangements, which include trumpet and two saxophones, are muscular but never overblown. Teenaged Joe Cocker-soundalike Andrew Strong is terrific on powerful soul stompers like "Mustang Sally", "In The Midnight Hour", and "Take Me To The River", and Angeline Ball and the predominantly female backing group share the lead vocals on equally great renditions of "Chain Of Fools" and ...
