Having watched a production of Annie with my pet mouse, I was pursuaded to buy the CD for him. He loves it! He's constantly listening to the album and has made himself a wig out of the wax that covers edam cheese. He's even started eating less cheese so that he can feel more like an orphan. My only worry is that he now has a love of dogs and being a mouse, this is potentially hazardous. This is why I have only awarded four stars, but if you asked him, he'd give it five . . . and a half if that was possible.

I am a fan of talking books, and I would describe many of the ones that I have heard as good, entertaining, thought provoking even. But this collection of stories stands so far above everything else that I have listened to that I can't see them ever being eclipsed. They are that very rare thing in literature - something that is brilliant, complex, moving - but absolutely not worthy, or 'difficult'. How many of us have struggled through a Booker prize winner because we 'ought to', when really it was too much like hard work? These stories are just so entertaining. What a fantastic album, you don't get much better than this, pure rock/metal quality from start to finish

Close your eyes and play this CD and you are back in the theatre listening to this wonderful musical. Hours later you still have the music and the words buzzing around your head as it is so memorable. Stephanie Lawerence is very good playing Mrs Johnstone, and was an exceptional singer but the Liverpool accent was perhaps best produced by Linda Nolan although she did not have the quality of Stephanie's voice. I have see the musical four times with the same Narrator,and he is is superior to Warwick Evans. Also, Eddie is today played with gusto and at all four performances he has been fantastic and what an accent. Thank you Amazon for having this in stock. Please don't stop making this available. I just dug out the album when packing up my parents things. I used to listen to this album so much as a young adult and when I saw the album and realized I had no record player to play it I was hurt. I took a chance and looked for it online and it came up. I cried. My high school sang Starmaker as one of our graduation songs 20 years ago. I used to be a dancer so Fame was a show I was glued to and I used to make dances from the songs on this album. Thanks a zillion for allowing me to hold on to these great memories.

I was really disappointed when listening to these recordings. I had an old recording of Morricone on a tape, which I love, and thought I was to find the same on this CD. But the interpretations are really different (I agree with one of the previous comments), and are far from carrying the same emotions. Don't do like me, and listen to the song samples to make sure this is what you want.

There are few occasions these days where music will take your emotions to the depths of despair and up to the highest cloud and back before the album is finished. Mostly this happens in film soundtracks and Hannibal is easily one of the finest. There is humour, sadness, heart-pounding atmosphere and some pieces that will make your heart sing and sent your soul alight as the finest music does, and should. The highlight of the album is Vide cor Meum by Patrick Cassidy - the album is worth buying for this alone. When I first watched the film I became determined to discover which great opera that piece was from, not realising that it was written specially for the film. Classic soundtrack. This album has everything. Kenny Loggins establishes himself as the master of powerful, catchy 80s cheese with the immense Danger Zone and fun-as-you-like Playing With The Boys. Berlin's Take My Breath Away is possibly THE greatest ballad of all time. Harold Faltermeyer's Top Gun Anthem is about as moving a piece of music can be. A must have.
