This CD has some very nice songs on it.But Anthony Way doesn't sing very many songs on this CD . So if you would like to hear more of him I would recommend: "The Best of Anthony Way" or "Wings of a Dove". Overall this Cd is very good.

This CD is the `Immortal Beloved' film soundtrack of Ludwig van Beethoven's music. It is a `Greatest Hits' compilation featuring the composer's best known pieces. The film title relates to a letter written by Beethoven to a mystery lady, who was the object of Beethoven's deep affections. Beethoven's music has grandeur, beauty, tenderness, explosiveness, majesty and splendour, in abundance. The track list includes excerpts of his sonatas, concertos and symphonies, but no string quartets (which some consider amongst his best works). There are fine performances by the London Symphony Orchestra. Anything composed by Beethoven is worthy of listening to, in my opinion. Throughout the album Shore brings us his haunting feel, through the Asylum and Clarice, which all the way through has the classic Silence of the Lambs stamp of approval. Compared with Zimmer's sound score there is no comparison, Zimmer's is very good and beautiful to hear but Shore's is far more haunting and chilling and in my opinion more enjoyable to listen to. This maybe because Hannibal is set in the Summer and The Silence of the Lambs is based in the winter, Shore's score has also got a very cold and wintery feel about it. But this is one of the things which makes Hannibal and The Silence of the Lambs so different, they are two totally different films, no way in the same leagues and the same goes for the music. Okay, I'll admit I only bought this album for "Ballroom Blitz" however, it is a "excellent' album! The only reason it's not getting 5 stars is that they've missed out at least 2 of the great Crucial Taunt songs that I absolutley loved. But, i ain't complaining, it's a great album and will make a excellent addition to any Wayne's World fan's collection

This album is very strong in character and very appealing. It has comparatively slow tempi and a massive sound, which distinguishes it from a lot of recordings of this repertoire. It keeps growing on you as you discover new fantastic pieces as you keep listening to it. It shows that french baroque from the time of the Sun King is more melodic, rythmic, galant, pompous and indeed powerful than contemporary baroque from elsewhere. Recommended!

this is the 1966 original broadway cast of Jerry Hermans' lovely musical'Mame' about the life of an eccentric lady who becomes the guradian to herorphaned nephew. Angela Lansbury is outstanding in the title role andalong with a decent cast belts out some great showstopping songs such as'Mame', 'We need a little christmas' and 'open a new window'. This showwas originally recorded in 1966 and remastered and re-released in 1999with bonus tracks featuring the composer Jerry Herman singing some demosongs back in 1966. this will be a nice addtion to any collection.

I Came across this by accident but was hooked on the first hearing. In tracks such as St Crispin's Day, the composer manages to convey the sweep and drama of the film to such a degree that even if one never saw the film the scene is perfectly conveyed. Definitely deserves a wider audience.

Don't even think of buying one of 'Highlight' CD's as there's not even one song on here deserves to be missed out. Cameron Mackintosh is the best producer about at the moment and Boublil & Schönberg have written and composed a score that is gripping and full of raw emotion which makes you feel for all the character's feelings. I have listened to the recording at least once a day if not twice since I received it (please bare in mind that I got it about a month ago so it ain't one that gets boring quickly). If you like Les Miserables and Martin Guerre then this is one for you, If you haven't buy them aswell!
