Kevin Kiner's composing credits at the Internet Movie Database include 67 scores, most of them for American television. I've seen a few episodes of some of these programs, though I can't say that I ever remember hearing of Kevin Kiner until his name was announced as the composer for the new Star Wars animated feature, The Clone Wars. And in fact I suppose that's true for most Star Wars fans, and the general public, as well. The composer doesn't maintain a web presence, but perhaps he's too busy. This is a truly masterly score which is appropriate for the film in every respect. The disc also features the famous Afghan singer Ahmad Zahir who was renowned in the 70s as a sort of Afghanistani Cat Stevens. I have read up on him since listening to this CD and he has had a sadly short life dying at just 33 years but leaving behind a wealth of music which has become a standard for singers in Afghanistan. I love those tracks on this CD and will be seeking out more of Ahmad Zahir music. For anyone who has seen the film the music will be memorable anyway and for anyone who hasnt seen it GO NOW!!! It is the best of recent releases.

One of the best cd's I've ever bought!! I love the voice of Amy adams, her songs (True Love's Kiss, Happy Working Song and That's How You Know) are very precious and beautiful; Carry Underwood is simply incredible in her song (Ever Ever After), too!; the instrumental songs transport you to that fantasy world (you wish you were into the movie again), they are so special and the arrangements are terrific, the orchestra is one of the best efforts of this sondtrack, and Alan Menken did a marvelous work!!...and I adore the romantic song (so Close), is the climax of both movie and soundtrack!! And the last song, with James Mardsen (That's Amore) is very nostalgic, funny and magic (you think you are in Paris)!! You have to buy this cd...Is simply ENCHANTED!! ... Read More:

The Goodfellas soundtrack, despite presenting some key songs, is a disappointing package. Notable songs such as Jerry Vale's "Pretend you don't see her" and Sid Vicious's "My way" are absent.

The story of the American Civil War had never been so well covered until Ken Burns undertook his monumental undertaking a few years ago. The music CD covers all the main musical themes which accompanied the series and make no mistake, its wonderful! What I like about it is the simple melodies taken from the well know folk songs which existed at the time. The highlight is of course is Ashoken Farewell. Its haunting. If you saw the series and enjoyed it like I did, then this CD is a great buy.

I love this score for its grandeur and beauty. One would imagine big pieces like those lushly Hollywood histrionics production, but it is not. The overall impression is very subtle, just the right note here and there. I do beg your pardon as I can't write about music, but I like the world to share my joy for this album. There is no one important piece here, but collectively, they take my mind away and send me back to old English charm in the countryside, on a late summer evening. Love it!

I used to watch this film many moons ago when i was younger, and ive since rediscovered it, only to find that this film is as good as, if not better than i remembered it! The setting is beautiful and the Yorkshire dales give the film a wonderful sense of mood too. The acting is brilliant. Maggie Smith is class all the way as Mrs Medlock, and John Lynch is a surprisingly good choice as Lord Craven. The children too are brilliant here - most notably Andrew Knott as Dickon, and there is an utterly charming romantic attraction theme between his character and that of Mary Lennox which runs through the film! <3 All in all, a wonderful film that is sweet and innocent, just like every childhood should be :) xxxxxxxxxxxxx
