This is a terrific melange of medieval, celtic, and spanish music, all put together as only the Chieftains can. Wild as it may sound, it works beautifully. It makes for an original, non-traditional approach to celtic strains that serves only to delight the listener. The contributions of Galician piper Carlos Nunez, as well as that of Linda Ronstadt and Los Lobos, further enriches this innovative recording, making it one well worth having in one's collection.

I first heard this album back in the summer of 1982 and it sounds as good now as it did then. I was already familiar with For Those About to Rock (We Salute You) and I'd heard bits of Highway to Hell and Back in Black but this was what converted me. The songs on this album are infantile, puerile, barely adolescent... and absolutely brilliant. From the crash-bang-thump intro to the swaggering title track to the fade out at the end of the distinctly sleazy and tasteless Squealer this is pure, unbridled rock'n'roll joy. Heathen Chemistry is probably Oasis' worst album. But that doesn't mean it's bad. Many tracks are very average by Oasis standard, such as All In The Mind, Force of Nature, Better Man and Hung In A Bad Place. However, saying that, personally it contains some of Oasis best tracks. The Hindu Times is a fantastic rocker that would perfectly fit on to Definitely Maybe. Great guitar rifts and a great chorus, it is real ballsy stuff. Other highlights include Liam Gallagher's Songbird, which surprised many by being an incredibly sweet soft nice little tune - something many would not associate with rock's and hardest frontman. If you like the voices of Billie Holliday and Ella Fitzgerald at their melancholy best then you'll like this CD. Madeleine Peyroux has the reputation for being an offbeat and thoughtful character. Maybe because she takes her art so seriously. Strange fruit that is essentially beautiful.

My wife (for whom I bought it) says that this CD set is very restful and soothing and I have to say that I quite like to hear the singing in the background whilst I slave away at the computer. And, of course, the great thing is that we got two CDs for about the price of one. Excellent!

I haven't heard the whole album but I just want to say that Live with Me with Terry Callier is the sexiest record EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It even beats Night Nurse by Gregory Issacs and that's saying something!

We have loved John Denver's music since we were kids. Hearing them in this CD shows us that he was the BEST. We have so many memories of the different things the songs meant to us, he gave us a lot of happiness. We will always play his music & we know it will live on long after we are gone.
