Arrived yesterday and I have played it over and over, hit after hit superbly remastered and a 'must have' CD absolutely fabulous can't add anything more just buy it!

Well i must say i thought this was just another compilation of the latest tunes that i don't care about at all. How i was wrong !! This is brilliant, it contains new songs such as "Cry for You" and also contains some real classics such as "Luvstruck" which we recognize from "Kevin and Perry". The list really does go on and not only are they brilliant tracks but they are also all club mixes of these songs so there's added bass and speed on most tracks. Good for general listening but obviously much better in the car, club, house party or anywhere with loud speakers and subs !! EASILY worth the money !! Ben

My partner hates this album with a passion...He said it was like having sandpaper rubbed all over his face. I love it. Exquisite, strong, heartbreaking. J'adore Takk.

If the Grim Reaper traded in his scythe and recorded an album of melancholic country guitar music this, one imagines, is what it would sound like. Johnny Cash's rich Fire N' Brimstone tones haven't diminished one bit despite his advancing years, but listen carefully and we now find it tinged with something soft and imperceptibly fragile. Something almost like regret (or relief) of a life lived through. Cash is one of those rare artists that can take a song, any song, and turn it utterly on its head, allowing the dark stuff of life to ooze out and re-contextualize it in ways you'd never even considered. Great soundtrack, Jennifer Hudson, Duffy and particular fave is New York Girls - Morningwood, if you loved the film you love the soundtrack!!

"Meddle" - the 1971 album - contains the bands signature piece "Echoes" : a massive, definitive space-rock-funk-jam that lasts about 22 minutes, is the perfect accompaniment to the end of "2001", and was undoubtedly the absolute, brain-mashing highlight of 2006's David Gilmour Tour : seeing it performed by the ersatz version of the Floyd - containing 2/3rds of the final touring lineup - on his 2006 tour, assaulted by lasers and smoke in the confines of the Royal Albert Hall was one of the musical highlights of my life. Nonetheless, we're getting off track : "Meddle" is a great record that is the first foreshadowing of the creative heights the band will achieve. A fine record worth buying.

This disc is simply beautiful. Two are its main characteristics:continuity and change. Continuity relates to individual tracks which display a pronounced element of recursion that is repetition with slight variation of the same theme which promotes a feeling of soothing, calm and relaxation. Recursion is something employed successfully in distinctly different areas:in music famously employed by J.S.Bach to excellent effect in his baroque compositions, in graphics by Escher and in Mathematics by Goedel while it forms the basis of fractal Geometry. The change is provided by the eight tracks each exploring a different theme or to use the more sophisticated word of the liner note a different 'soundscape'. I have only had this album for two days and it is already one of my favourites! Although I had heard of Ray Lamontagne, I had not heard any of his music and ordered this album from Amazon on a whim. Just pure beautiful music, very Damian Rice-esque, execpt more upbeat!!
