This is it...what it's all about..
The best aggressive thrash album ever- yes I know that Slayer Reign in Blood is regarded as the best thrash album - the best tracks (by far?) of the genre are on that, Raining Blood, Angel of Death and Piece by Piece..But Sepultura are just true aggression in these earlier days. Schizophrenia, even morbid Visions were good- hell I've even got Bestial Devastation on vinyl- from Brazil !, but Beneath the Remains is awesome- especially because the production is so heavy. Where other fast metal albums are marred on CD (listen to Flotsam & Jetsam No Place For disgrace for an example) this album sounds great.
I defy anyone to resist banging their head to the title track. All the tracks are good, although some are not as ... Read More:

A typical end-of-80s thrash album in that, as with many bands (Slayer, Megadeth, etc) Testament realised they had to take their foot off the gas to progress, as the competition for speed had already been won by a Slayer landslide in '86.
Of the tracks on the album only Nightmare really earns the 'thrash' label; the rest being largely upper-mid-tempo steamhammers, living by heaviness, and (dare I say it,) melody, rather than speed.
The production lacks the clarity and momentum of the first release, but the songs can more than hold their own.
Better by miles than the subsequent Souls in Black album,, and for my money on a par with the faster fore-runner The New Order, but newcomers would be better directed to either the debut 'Legacy' or the latest 'Gathering' ... Read More:

Great album, but I'd have to disagree with people sayin that the two new songs are forgetable, ok so I cant Hide isnt a classic but Where You Come From is a top quality song! If you havent got any Pantera albums i'd recommend this but if youve got a few then theres nothing special on this that you wont of already heard.

35.Only Theatre of Pain by: Christian Death

Music : Only Theatre of Pain
Another winter approaches and what delights await us 'Old Goths'? The much welcomed re-release of an absolute classic! Slip back in time with Rozz Williams. Delve into the quivering, whining vocals, haunting guitars and dark moody baselines which became the trademark of this genre. This is the stuff of dreams. With tracks like Romeo's Distress, Spiritual Cramp and Burnt Offerings sending shivers up your spine, there is a raw, naked quality to this album, like the first tentative steps in the stilettos of Goth's past. More subtle and delicate than the later, more aggressive Velor material, Only Theatre of Pain will bring the memories flooding back. And for those of you who are not familiar with this album, prepare to open your eyes and find what's been missing from your lessons ... Read More:

Alright it was cheesy just like most 80's metal but was'nt that the era that style forgot about? it was the golden age for metal so who gives a fu.k,this band influenced the likes of Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) to Alexi lehio (Children Of Bodom), believe it or not even slipknot have a bit of mercyful fate in them...and so..this is a awsome untrendy influential metal band/Album along with the unbelievable King Diamond that any band would take a piece out of to progress..any Hungry young up and coming metal band with a Desire to leave there mark on this sacred thing we call metal site this band as a influence..be it thrash to black to melodic black metal..like when Emperor covered *gypsy*,honestly anything Mercyful Fate done pre 90's and Kind Diamond is worth listening to..

This album is Anthrax doing something different. Usually i enjoy it when a band goes a different route (Motley Crue 94, Def Leppard Slang, Metallica's Load) but this album is full of poor Nu Metal songs.

I don't know about you, but when I want to hear anthrax I want to hear some real singing (no grunty nu metal stuff), some catchy songs and Thrash Metal!

None of that is on this album, it's a band trying to fit in with the times which unfortunatly sounds weak (well to my ears). Its a real shame because this lineup was great live.

2008 I'm waiting for their new album hoping that the new guy can actually sing so we don't get this kind of crap again.

I Admit there's about 3 good songs on the album but there isnt much to go for here. They ... Read More:

38.Countdown to Extinction by: Megadeth
July 06, 1992
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Music : Countdown to Extinction
I think this is probably Megadeth's best album. It is the perfect blend between underground thrash and commercial thrash/hard rock. Every track is full of mind-blowing riffs and great lyrics. Dave has obviously really put a lot of time and effort into making this whole album, espicially the lyrics, which are surprisingly catchy! Tracks:

'Skin O' My Teeth': Awesome start to the album. Perfect opening track that jumps right out at you. Great riff, awesome lyrics. Sets a tone for the whole album. 5/5

'Symphony Of Destruction': Everyone knows this track. One of Megadeth's best and everyone knows the words. It has to be sung along to. Amazing start to this track with an awesome riff. 5/5

'Architecture Of Agression': Great track that isn't one of Megadeth's best ... Read More:

by gum,is this album really seven years old now,how time flies hey,and im even more shocked that i havent written a review for this until now,i swore that i had until i realised i hadnt ,well here it is,and my rating wont bring the five star average down one note hey.
Amen in 1999 released a debut that was powerful yet a little inconsistent,it knew where it wanted to go but didnt have the songs to get there, just a year later this was released and they passed the test in some style.
Amen were never metal, although that has been said, they would never sit comfortable in that bracket, with the drummer shannon hitting the skins the way he did, that notion gained pace but it simply wasnt true. The band have been called punk but of course the term punk has been severly diluted and overused in recent years, bands ... 40.Suicidal Tendencies by: Suicidal Tendencies

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

>>More Details
Music : Suicidal Tendencies
It's fast, it's catchy & very, very angry!
There's a rawness but the sound is still decent, and the musicianship is equally good with shed loads of punky riffs & solos and lots of fast, infectious bass lines all over!
Lyrics are equally dark & humourous with some angry, political rants from Mike Muir, who is almost out of breath at times. Certain aspects have inevitably dated but it's not a problem.
It's 100% enjoyable and the 1993 rerecording failed to improve on this!
A real classic, alongside Misfits' Legacy Of Brutality & early DRI!
