It really is a shame to see this band in such a state. What happened to them on those last two albums? Everything that was right about their first three albums just went so drastically wrong, by their standards, on Mezmerize and Hypnotize. And then, of course, came this EP. I don't think I could have been more disappointed by a choice in single. It doesn't tell a new listener anything about System of a Down - only a whole lot about Daron Malakian and how utterly irritating his voice is.

Admittedly, the other tracks on this EP are rather brilliant. The cover of Snowblind is a rare treat, considering their lack of recorded cover songs, as is the track "Shame" which is, certainly, an usual collaboration. But on the whole, this single, ... Read More:

THIS ALBUM HAS HAD MIXED REVIEWS OVER THE YEARS, SOME GOOD AND SOME BAD...IN MY OPINION IT IS A GOOD ALBUM, THAT MATURES WITH AGE,,WITH CLASSIC TRACKS LIKE "ELIMINATION", "EVIL NEVER DIES" AND THE LIVE FAVORITE "I HATE" YOU CAN'T REALLY GO WRONG...THE SLOWER MOMENTS ON THE ALBUM DESERVE A MENTION TOO, THEY ARE NOT MY MOST MEMORABLE OVERKILL MOMENTS, BUT TRACKS LIKE "WHO TENDS THE FIRE" AND "THE YEARS OF DECAY" STILL SOUND STRONG TODAY..DON'T JUST TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, GIVE IT A SPIN YOURSELF...PLAY IT LOUD !!!!!!

Anthrax, Attack of the Killer B's - Back in 1991, Anthrax released the album "Attack Of The Killer B's" that featured unreleased material and B-Sides that were recorded over the band's past three-and-a-half years. Some of the material was released on "Penikufesesin", an E.P. available in Europe and Japan. Some of the tracks were recorded specifically for the album's release, and some of the tracks are just previously unreleased obscure tracks.

The album was compiled and released to enable fans to hear all the hard to find tracks that are mentioned from time to time on the music scene.

The album is a must-buy for any fan of Anthrax, containing twelve tracks that you will struggle to hear any other way.

mercyful fate are/were a very influential danish metal band that the term blackened metal was first accredited too even though the sound is more comfortable compared to maiden and priest but the satanic lyrics and imagery helped the movement take shape.
The first thing that one must get over when you hear mercyful fate is the vocal style of king diamond,it is falsetto beyond the beyonds, falsetto being hig pitched,if one thought that artists like dani filth had a falsetto that tears through you then think again. For my opinion,i have to say that his vocal style here is bearable,in parts of his solo work its a bit too much, his non falsetto vocal style here is very depeche mode or something like that,i cant quite state what it reminds me off but i liked ... 1995 was probably quite an intimidating time for Morbid Angel. The whole grunge/alt. rock thing was starting to really get into high gear. On the heavier side of music the word 'industrial' was starting to be mentioned in closer and closer circles to the mainstream. Extreme metal bands must have been wondering what, if anything the future held for them. This is somewhat evident on David Vincent's last studio album with the band and shows the only discernible signs of compromise in their long and eminent career.

Of course when I mean compromise, I mean Morbid Angel style compromise. Because after all every one of their albums is different, from the blistering, straight ahead speed workout of Altars of Madness to the complex and epic Blessed are the Sick ... Read More:

And on par with their 3 predecessors; it contains elements of the 3 of them, retaining the speed, agression and their hardcorish thrash/speed-metal signature sound. Their first after a 4 year hiatus and the departure of their famous drummer Dave Lombardo now incorporating the competent Paul Bostaph. Problem is the band were moved from one studio to another( to a total of 4) so production is quite inconsistent but once you're familiar with the record it starts kicking ..ss bigtime.

After Fear Factorys best album 'demanufacture', it would be hard for the band to release an album as classic as 'demanufacture. This album is not as good although it is only slightly worse which in turn makes this a great album. The album has a consistently good songs. The guitars sound awesomely menacing and driving and the drumming is rapid fire and precise. The vocals are good with Burton C.Bell screaming and growling along with some excellent melodic choruses. The melodic choruses fit in perfectly in track three 'smasher/devourer' and also in 'shock' 'descent' and 'freedom of fire' A good element to Fear Factory is the keyboard which adds a great dark atmosphere to the songs. It gives them an extra edge and it works really well. The turntable usage is ok also altho a big limp bizkit esq ... Read More:
