GREAT STUFF, I love this band and even if you don't, you cannot deny the absolute power of this cd. Yeah, these days the production would have been MEGA, but this was out years ago, and still it kills.
Check it out, seriously. DO IT!, DO IT!

73.Terrible Certainty by: Kreator

Music : Terrible Certainty
In my eyes Slayer's Reign in Blood was the best thrash album, Civilised Society's Scrap Metal was the best hardcore album and this is the best Death Metal Album. Kreator singer was once described by Kerrang as someone singing with a cheese grater in his throat so I went and bought my first ep. After collecting them all Terrible Certainty comes out top. It still has the aggression leaving you with a very sore neck. One of Us is by far my favourite and 15 years on its still a well loved album.

This is such an amazing album with classics like Alice In Hell, W.T.Y.D, Schizos Are Never Alone Part 1 and 2. Its just a shame that Rabdy Rampage is really awful at singin and this really lets the songs down but even his vocals cant make this album awful as it just so melodic and so thrash with so many amazing riffs.

Annihilator = Underrated Thrash Band

I dont know why alot of Kreator fans dont rate this album. Its easily as good as any metal album you'll find. Songs like Black Sunrise and Outcast are amongst the best Kreator have ever done. They are undeniably heavy and their ability to knock out a killer riff remains undiminished.

I think the difference is that this album is not played at a gazillion miles per hour like their landmark earlier albums and some of the diehard fans dont like this and the more melodic sensibility combined with a greater songwriting maturity the band display here.

However, if you like hard and heavy metal, with bludgeoning riffs, plenty of change of pace and a good variety of songs this is for you. There are very few true metal albums to ... Read More:

Music : Rust In Peace
to put it as simple as possible...

i have been listening to this CD since it came out and I've bought it in various formats more than 8 times. The times i've listened to this album are way beyond count!!this album IS the quintessence of thrash metal. Atmosphere, ferocity, production, musicianship, lyricism and treble to the MAX!!...it's got them all!!
as a teenager i have been a huge metallica fan...but all comparison FAILS when it comes to this particular gem!! it is by far in a league of its own!

whoever listens to pure metal music MUST own it.
whoever is looking for a place to start this IS it!

Avoid the remastered copies. Dave has done a good job with most of the albums but on this one he could ... Read More:

78.Obsolete by: Fear Factory
August 30, 2002
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Music : Obsolete
After Fear Factorys best album 'demanufacture', it would be hard for the band to release an album as classic as 'demanufacture. This album is not as good although it is only slightly worse which in turn makes this a great album. The album has a consistently good songs. The guitars sound awesomely menacing and driving and the drumming is rapid fire and precise. The vocals are good with Burton C.Bell screaming and growling along with some excellent melodic choruses. The melodic choruses fit in perfectly in track three 'smasher/devourer' and also in 'shock' 'descent' and 'freedom of fire' A good element to Fear Factory is the keyboard which adds a great dark atmosphere to the songs. It gives them an extra edge and it works really well. The turntable ... Read More:

79.Hell Awaits by: Slayer
September 19, 2004
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Music : Hell Awaits
...And its called "Hell Awaits", lasts 37 minutes and 12 seconds and was the moment Slayer found their own unique sound with out having to rely on any NWOBHM or early thrash fore-runners to inspire them to write tunes.
It leaves show No Mercy behind, with is lighter riffs and anthemic lyrics, and just blasts out dark noise of ill intent.
The production is a bit poor like just about everyone agrees, and it could have had a better mix (epsecially the drums, which if you turn it up loud enough, are bloody awesome !!)
Slayer are obviously famous for (amongst other things) Reign in Blood. The Daddy of Thrash metal, and one of the most inspiring records in the death metal fraternity. Hell Awaits is like the trailer, the "warm up gig" for that ... Read More:

This was Sepultura's second full length album and in my opinion a pretty good one. It shows a level of musical maturity that the band just weren't capable of a year earlier with 'Morbid Visions' having dropped the cheesy satanic rubbish for more grown up and slightly more political lyrical themes. I think compared to their later works of Beneath the remains, Arise and Chaos AD this album feels a little bland but it sets the seen for 1989's masterpiece 'Beneath the Remains'. Another important thing about this album is the addition of Sepultura's now long time lead guitarist Andreas Kisser who brings another element to Sepultura's sound. If you are interested in this album and have heard some of it i would reccomend Arise or Beneath the remains over it.
