The `smooth' title has been often used, but this is an inspirational choice of music, for its variety of relaxing tunes and a great line up of soloists including Nicola Benedetti, Bryn Terfel, Aled Jones, Julian Lloyd Webber, Renée Fleming, Lisa Gerrard, Vladimir Ashkenazy. The orchestras include The Royal Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, City of Prague Philharmonic, The conductors are Herbert von Karajan, Daniel Barenboim, John Eliot Gardiner and more. Highly recommended.

What a disappointment! I put this into the cd player hoping to be blown away by some seriously good blues/rock but....well, 6 plays later, I'm still waiting. Maybe it's too American for my taste but if you want good blues/rock music tune into Paul Rodgers, Free, Ian Siegal etc. Joe Bonamassa can certainly play (apparently he opened for BB King when he was 12!) but I couldn't discern any connection with the noise coming out of the speakers. Soul-less.

This album demonstrates many of the influences Metallica have had over the years. Every song is quite different to the one before yet all remain very appealing and enjoyable. It seems Metallica have rediscovered the right mix of melody, aggression and funk after their last few disappointing efforts. Some of the influences I can pick up on are: Iron Maiden, John 5, Slayer, Pantera and perhaps even a little bit of Marty Friedman. Favourite song? Cyanide In summary, a brilliant album of very different tunes but all capturing the imagination of the listener. Thoroughly recommended - 5 Star!

My initial interest in Jordin Sparks happened without me even knowing it. My bus driver was playing an album one night after school and as soon as I began to listen to these songs I really liked the music. It was so rhythmical and her voice made me feel so good after a long school day. I only heard up to track six for most of the time, but I loved the songs. I really wanted to know who this was. One track that particularly captivated me was No air, which I could tell was a duet. The power in that song that I felt from the very beginning has stayed with me. In the early summer of this year I saw the video for No air and I saw this name Jordin Sparks, and I had heard it somewhere before. I realised that this was the album played on the bus. ... I've been an Oasis fan since I was 11 - I'm now 24 - and agree with the previous reviewer re: people's expectations. Oasis are never going to suddenly completely change their style to try and please fickle magazine critics. They know what their fans like and they know what works for them. That's not to say Dig Out Your Soul is identical to previous albums, it does have plenty of new ideas and sounds - try listening for all the different sound effects they use in the songs. They're older, wiser and it shows in the lyrics. Liam in particular is really developing as a songwriter. Believe me, it's usually the other way round. Usually I have nothing but praise for the man and his show that introduce me to so many fantastic artists. But in the case of this album, seeing Martha Wainwright perform on that show before purchasing `I Know You're Married, but I've Got Feelings Too' has ruined me, because if I hadn't seen her perform live I would have been blissfully unaware that in the right form this collection of songs presents an absolutely incredible portrait of a uniquely charismatic singer/song-writer. But not when they're delivered with decidedly less passion on an over-produced album that is not a proper showcase for these beautifully written songs and the tortured/passionate voice that always performs to perfect spine-tingling effect in the right setting. ... This album is twice as good as his previous effort and I have therefore given it two stars. His voice is still annoying though. Maybe someone should suggest to him (nicely) he does an instrumental album. Yikes..

Brilliant artist,superb songs, awful remaster.This has took all the raw sound out of this mans music.If you listen to the originals there is no comparison.Messing about with tracks either works or it does not,this is the latter.
