I Know That Name finds Paul Carrack finally getting back to writing and recording, largely his own material. The previous 3 albums being last year's 'Old, New Borrowed and Blue' compilation, 'The Story So Far' (2006 Greatest Hits) and 2005's Winter Wonderland (Christmas songs). The last album of new Carrack songs was 2003's 'It Ain't Over', so it's well overdue and I'm pleased to say it's been well worth the wait... For me, this is his best album since 'Satisfy My Soul' (2000). I mentioned that this is 'largely' his own material; the only exception being the first track 'Ain't No Love...' the Bobby Bland track (also covered by Whitesnake) and Paul's most successful UK single in a long, long time. I can't think of any reason for why people gives this album three or even one star??? How can you critisize an album which is made up by previous hit singles. After my opinion a Single Collection is never bad, and especially not this. Here are all the favorite Sugababes songs gathered on one cd. Could it get any better?! No, of course not!! Every single track on this cd is splendid; the no 1 hits Push the Button, Hole in the Head, Round,Round, and Freak like Me gives you a good headach. And not too mension the hit ballads Too lost in you, Stronger, and Ugly. And the new and sexy single Easy gives the single collection the final touch. I am biased of course because I love James Taylor's voice...! but this is sublime for a christmas feel anytime of the year...even if,like me, you are not vaguely religious, all the songs just feel 'right'!

Overall, a good soundtrack, with nice references back to Casino Royale. But, where on earth is the end credits music? It's missing. Shame on Sony, as this was great.

An improvement over "I Can't Stop" and "Everything's OK". Excellent collaborations. Still not quite as good as his work in the 1970s (is Al Green the top male soul singer ever ?). Recommended to old and new fans.

this album is fab hallialuah made me buy it but the whole album is fab buy it the story about hallialuah on radio2 thats how i got to hear of him he deserves much more regonition why hasant he? bob dylan does and i think leonard cohen is much better and his voice is better too!! alson get songs of leonard cohen from the 60s and songs of love and hate!! buy them you wont regret it ive also just recieved richard hawleys ladys bridge album fabalous too!!

I was going to mention Clapton's christening of the Les Paul, Marshall setup, but others have beaten me to it. I liken it's impact to what happened to harp playing when Little Walter and other's deciding to blow through the PA or an early guitar amp. They REDEFINED the sound of the instrument. So all I'll add is the rhetorical question...can you imagine being a teenage Brit, having been reared on the sounds of the Beatles, Jerry and the Pacemakers, or even the Dave Clark Five, wandering into a London club because someone had recommended the Bluesbreakers, and hearing THIS STUFF? Probably as epiphanic as being a white guy in mid 50's Chicago and having the nerve to wander into the Dew Drop Inn and hearing Muddy, Wolf, or later, Otis Rush and Buddy Guy. Simply put, a life ...
