After making a classic album "Pieces of the Sky"...in the same year is released "Elite Hotel" which contains many classic songs, such as "Together Again", and "One of These Days". This is great country music but "Sin City" is a boring song, other songs are great!

This is absolute must have edition and what makes it different from others is the fact that 90% of songs featured here come from older generation master tapes that were hidden in Sam Phillips vaults and were not available before. Sound is simply amazing, specially when compared to 50's masters or 'Sunrise'.

Unfortunately, "A Boy Called Sue" gets bleeped, which is distracting in the middle of a live recording. Sony/Columbia get no marks for trying to make a collection of Cash songs kid-friendly.

Rarely has music moved me as much as Emmylou Harris' last two albums, "Red Dirt Girl" and the sublime "Wrecking Ball". Listening to these albums became almost a spiritual experience, the music is that good; beautiful, uplifting, heart-breaking. So it is with a great deal of disappointment that i must admit just how inferior Emmylou's latest offering is. The problem isn't however with the song writing, but the over-precious, over-the-top production, which is at best too glossy and at worst plain cheesy. It's such a shame because these unnecessary flourishes really take from emmylou's distinctive delivery and fine songwriting. This is a great starting point for the budding rockabilly fan. Charlie Feathers was recommended to me by a friend as "the Robert Johnson of Rockabilly" and I bought this album on the strength of that. I'd never heard of Mac Curtis but the material here absolutely blew me away. If you like rock and roll then you should buy this straight away. There are no weak songs here and all the recordings date from the rockabilly golden era of the mid to late 50s. When you think that Mac Curtis was only 17 when this was recorded it is a phenomenal achievement. This is pure genius and I can't praise it highly enough.

This album gives a selection of good-quality instrumental work from Atkins, which is perfect to put on and relax to. If you like to listen to a guitar sing, then buy this album.

Anyone would love this soundtrack from the film of the same name. There are some wonderful Dolly Parton classics on here, including 'I Will Always Love You', made famous by Whitney Houston in 'Bodyguard' - but, in actual fact, la Diva Parton actually wrote and recorded this song for Whorehouse, several years beforehand. The addition of Burt Reynolds, Dom deLuise and Charles Durning (usually a serious actor) all add to the comedy and warmth of both the soundtrack and film itself. It's a must have for any Dolly Parton fans, but it's also a must-have for anyone who believes in good, old fashioned fun, and who still believes that love is possible.

This is not a greatest hits collection although it does contain the two songs that Slim is most readily identified with, Rose Marie and Happy anniversary. Indian love call, China doll, I'll take you home again Kathleen and Love song of the waterfall are other favorites among Slim's fans that are included. Most of the songs here are covers, but Slim's unique voice ensures that they are fresh and distinctive. There are western songs (Riders in the sky, Red river valley and Tumbling tumbleweeds), pop songs (Paper roses, Top of the world, Stranger on the shore, Secret love and Twelfth of never) and country songs (Rhinestone cowboy, Most beautiful girl, I fall to pieces, I love you because, From a jack to a king, Have I told you lately that I love you and You are my sunshine). ...
