Its great to see this collection of their early singles & ep's for the ankst lable get realeased, as they arn't commonly available at the moment. Gorky's are hardly a fashionable band. Dispite sometimes having a touch for melody that would make the beatles step back a pace, they are too uncommercial to get popular success & too unusual too get "alternative" success. Or perhaps too uncool. Those that have discovered them enjoy it that way though. Great collection, theres real imagination & originality here.

With the Blue Trees you can be transported to any time in history that you've ever wanted to leave this one for. This is one absolutely timeless classic. If you've ever been clubbed to death by some friendly Neanderthal on a Saturday night this probably the escapism you need. Totally rehumanising, this has the ups and the downs, i.e. 'Sweeter Than The Freshness In Water' and 'Foot And Mouth '68'.

Having heard only two songs from this album before I bought it, I thought it was about time broadened my musical horizons (from just listening to Metallica & Slipknot!). Beginning the album with a soft melodic intro, which features Apocalyptica, which leads prefectly into 'Her Voice Resides', A Thrash annihilation with screams but leads to smooth vocals by Matt Tuck and the boys. 'Cries in Vain' was originally taken from their self-titled five track UK EP and the US six track EP Hand of Blood and '4 Words (To Choke Upon)' was originally taken from the EP Hand of Blood.
