As I write this, I'm counting the hours until I see these guys again at The Boardwalk in Sheffield. This is the venue I first saw them at when it was the Mucky Duck, as we knew it back in the early 70's. I'm waiting to hear the infamous "Hi-ho" Seven dwarves intro before they kick off with some past classic such as "Guts". The old days were the Halcyon ones. This might be worth listening to played live by the band, but for me it just didn't cut the mustard. I found myself agreeing with Barrie's comments. It's not as good as it could have been. Simon Lees is a really competent guitarist and has blended into the band really well, and probably, after waiting so long for this album, I really would have endured a further twelve months to get something ... Secrets & Lies is stunning. Simple as that.
Taint share similarities with bands such as Clutch, Baroness, High On Fire & Neurosis but bring a uniquely British perspective into the mix. It's a seamless blend of all that's good about progressive Hardcore & classic rock: Awesome riffs, heartfelt vocals & well structured composition. It all gels together perfectly & the production is Organic but clear, giving a sound that is both powerful & natural. I can't fault anything, even the artwork is perfect.

For those who felt his style was outdated, again he illustrates just how fantastic his voice is!

The two best songs are the cover of the Talking Head's brilliant Burning Down the House and the reworking of classic San Francisco punk band Flipper's Sex Bomb. While I would say the Talking Heads cover is superior, anyone who enjoys this disc should really buy a copy of Flipper's album "Generic Flipper" (also called "Album") to hear the brilliant original.

Music : Mulder and Scully
Mulder and Scully was Catatonia's 'breakthrough' song that was an immediate hit peaking at number 3 in the UK chart. Its a fantastic indie-rock song with an addictively catchy tune and brilliant vocals from Cerys Matthews. Its a great single and is also found on their album 'International velvet' along with 'Road Rage', another recent single. Mulder and Scully is catatonia at their very best and is an essential single well worth anybody buying.

This CD is a good introduction to anyone who is looking for an overview of the music of Bonnie Tyler. "The Best" focuses mainly of her CBS recordings in the mid 80s when she had huge hits with "Total Eclipse Of The Heart", "Holding Out For A Hero", "Faster Than The Speed Of Night" and "Have You Ever Seen The Rain". Here you will also find choice album tracks, a hit duet with Shaken Stevens and four of her early hits, "Lost In France", "More Than A Lover", "It's A Heartache" and "Married Men".
If you like good rock music sung by a powerful female artist or a diehard Bonnie fan or simply as casual admirer, this CD is well worthing having even though there a better compilations out there such as "Total Eclipse -The Anthology".

This is the Japanese import version of Living a Dream, which offers two extra songs `You Are My Miracle' and `Don't cry for me Argentina'.

Living a Dream continued the success of Premiere and Second Nature, reaching No.1 in the UK Classical Music charts and No 4 in the UK Album chart in 2005. It was also awarded Album of the Year at the Classical BRIT Awards in 2006, repeating the success of Second Nature which won the same award the previous year.

Firstly, I was pleased with the much-improved image which the singer has adopted for this album's cover and sleeve artwork. A new photo and design team has given her a much needed glamour boost to something approaching an opera Diva.

It's also good to see a bit more ... Read More:
