It is the fourth work of '74 year announcement and "Budgie". The drum has alternated from "Ray Philips" to "Pete Boot" in this work. The member alternation seems to have succeeded because it has brought the sound the thickness and weight drumming alternatively. Feeling that pulls music is very comfortable, and it listens to a heavy lock of Gorigori with the sea weed to know the jar of a very heavy bass drum in this work though the drum is light, and the rhythm also receives the impression that it is monotonous by one, and music is smooth in "Never Turn Your Back On A Friend" of the former work now. Especially, the effect appears remarkably in the first album title tune "In For The Kill" and the fifth "Hammer and Tongs", and their most important ... Read More:

FINALLY!!!!!!! Forms & Feelings with "Mars" back on. I am about to order this from Amazon.uk as this site seems to be the only one with Mars & Love Sculpture back to back as I played it originally on the radio here in Toronto on CHUM-FM.

I seem to remember that Mars was like an overture to Love Sculpture and I believe they were linked together. Hope that is still the case. Look forward or ordering and listening again.

A moody album that can make your hairs stand on end. This album is spine-tingly good. If you like White Ladder (like myself) or acoustic tracks in general, then you should not hesitate to buy this album. This is David Gray's best offering but it is raw. Not an album for chart-music/pop fans. Buy it!

54.Postcard by: Mary Hopkin
January 05, 2004
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Music : Postcard

A very bizarre opening track to any album in 'Lord Of The Reedy River', followed by a much better song in 'Happiness Runs'.

As one would expect here, this is a very 'folky' album, but also full of other 'weird' songs and covers one may not have expected from Mary Hopkin - particularly songs that were not written for women, and so do not come out well... Among these are: 'Love Is The Sweetest Thing' and 'Young Love' - also a terribly sluggish rendition of 'Show Business' that was most certainly a mistake to record...

Upon first hearing this; a very strange album indeed that one really needs to listen to several times in order to get used to it. For many people who had been swept away by her number one smash 'Those ... Read More:

I'm a huge fan of bands debut albums. Whether it be Oasis, The Clash, Weezer or R.E.M. There's something really pure and unspoilt about that first effort that artists make. From the heart without celebrity to marr the music. Super Furry's is no exception. Fuzzy logic rocks along in a wonderful dream like scape that they will never recapture in any of they're follow ups. Not to say that they haven't made other quality albums. They sure have! But please buy this one, it's outstanding and stands the test unlike many 90's albums. 5 stars*****

For those who felt his style was outdated, again he illustrates just how fantastic his voice is!

The two best songs are the cover of the Talking Head's brilliant Burning Down the House and the reworking of classic San Francisco punk band Flipper's Sex Bomb. While I would say the Talking Heads cover is superior, anyone who enjoys this disc should really buy a copy of Flipper's album "Generic Flipper" (also called "Album") to hear the brilliant original.

my friend reccommended this CD to me and i was surprised how good it was. It's a beautiful mainly acoustic driven indie/folk rock record with unbelievable melodies and gorgeous music. Their sound cane be related to bands like coldplay, murry the hump and the Beatles. Their lyrics are thoughtful and every track is class, even though 2 are eccentric to say the least (poodle rockin and hair like monkey teeth like dog). Other standout tracks are the humming song, over and out an desolation blues. I reccommend this to everyone who likes mellow indie or rock. Its a crime they havent had a hit.

This album is a mixture of uplifting vibes & mellow ballads. Tom's voice really stands out. The combination of tunes & Tom's voice really makes this album appealing. 'I Can't Break The News To Myself' is such a fabulous song & really gets the mood going. There is a fair share of 'ballad-type' songs, which really brings out Tom's amazing talent to the full. Overall, the album is truely brilliant, & is a must for any fan.

Music : Greatest Hits: the Platinum Edition
This compilation encompasses both the early and the later hits of the legendary vocalist. The most unforgettable songs from his most productive period in the 1960s and early 1970s are here: the country classic Green Green Grass Of Home, classic pop like It's Not Unusual, What's New Pussycat, She's A Lady and I'll Never Fall in Love Again and pulsating vocal rock or dramatic power ballads (Pre-Meatloafian) like Delilah, Thunderball, Help Yourself, Daughter Of Darkness and Young New Mexican Puppeteer. There are some omissions, like Detroit City and minor hits such as Once Upon a Time, Little Lonely One, and With These Hands.

The second phase of his career is well represented by his innovative collaborations with new generation artists like Art Of Noise ... Read More:

I adore this album, and if I were on a desert island, I'd take it with me. It's a fantastic mixture of funky and folk, but combined beautifully, so, even though a few of the tracks aren't quite my cup of tea, as a whole, the album is perfect. Lots of the songs are quite basic, but I love that, they're quite raw and atomospheric, and yet the harmonies are incredible. And, the sad, dreadfully sad thing is that some of the artistes are unknown. Infact, my favourite track of the album, Blodeuwedd is by an unknown artiste.
It's a fine buy and an even finer listen. I'm eager for welsh rare beat 2.
