I've listened to this drivel - the record and all the hyped-up reviews of Duffy - and finally I've had enough. It's rubbish. 'You got me beggin', you got me beggin', you got me beggin' ad nauseum. Even dance songs can have good lyrics, it has happened. And enough already of these affected warbling or bellowing, sinus-afflicted girls (Adele's another...) I'm not hearing anything great here. And as for the Dusty comparisons, just just insulting to Dusty's versatility and emotional/vocal dynamic range. For god's sake, Duffy is plain Duff.

... is what Fernhill make. Every track tells a story, often in sequences of songs and melodies woven together. The words are almost exclusively Welsh, but English translations are provided in the booklet. Joyful and melancholy in turn, this music is a fine addition to the traditional Celtic repertoire, and a breath of fresh air when compared with the echo-vocals and synthesizers of so many other 'Celtic' artists.

What an album this is. Full of fantastic tracks from the best thing to come out of Wales. Hope that 'Mwng' the Welsh language album is as good.
