Thin Lizzy has always been big because they are one of the most famous rock bands and the fact that they are Irish and that type of hype never appeals to me it's happend to bands like U2 & Snow Patrol, and they arn't as good as everyone says they are. But Thin Lizzy are a great irish rock n roll band. Made famour by their songs The Boys are back in town & Whiskey In The Jar, they are more then just those 2 awesome songs. This album for example, all the songs are excellent and some brilliant rock n roll riffs. With classics likes Jailbreak, Angel From The Coast & of course The Boys Are Back In Town. This is a brilliant way to start with Thin Lizzy if you're curious about the band, you will already know The Boys are Back In Town so ... Read More:

The album that, in 1974, brought Bob Dylan back from the semi-wilderness he'd been in and out of since 1967. A laid-bare, heart-rending reconstruction in the recording studio of his disintegrating marriage, "Blood On The Tracks" contains some of Bod Dylan's (and anybody's) finest recorded work. It is, needless to say, completely reccommendable to anyone think of trying Dylan's music out for size, and yes there are many who know far less about his work than those of us who were brought up on this album in the seventies. These people are whom this review is aimed at. The rest of us know it's great.

The overall feel of the album, musically, is acoustic, and it kicks in with three pared-down classics of the genre - the mighty, mighty, mighty ... Read More:

Sheer brilliance, flowing against the tide of pop tripe the continualy fills the airways.
If your a fan of acoustic guitar music, buy this album. Scrap that just buy this album, the only complaint you'll have is ...damn it's finished. At a shade over 30 min's it's short by modern standards.
But don't feel short changed as every track is shimmering with mesmerizing beauty.
The better your system the more wonderful detail you can extract.
Jose plays with a passion that you can feel with each strum.
He may not have earth shattering vocals, but they blend seemlessly and become part of of the whole experience - John Martin fans will appreciate this.
The album has a certain quality that can make you loose yourself in distant ... Read More:

I was really looking forward to hearing the first Bellowhead album in its entirety. A great live band who had built up a cult following and brought on board critics such as Mr Folk, Mike Harding and the music critics from the 'serious' newspapers.
Bellowhead could be seen as an English Pogues. Quirky and left field. Offering their own unique interpretations of traditional songs through their all singing all dancing 11 piece instrumental line up.
Mixing everything from folk,to rag time, vaudeville, trad jazz and roots, the Bellowhead sound is certainly unique.
Unfortunately for me,their strength is in their live performances. Burlesque is quite a way off mark in that it lacks any outstanding tracks and loses so much in its over complicated ... Read More:

I am a long time Jackson Browne fan and have seen him live several times both with the band and solo. The previous solo album was an excellent effort and well worth five stars. Regrettably, this is not up to the standard of Vol.1 by any means.

I don't know why, perhaps some of the tracks were just not suited to a solo performance, perhaps these weren't the best performances but this album just doesn't gel. In particular, Somebody's Baby just didn't hit the spot at all and nor even did the usually excellent All Good Things. I was particularly disappointed by the rendition of "In the shape of a heart" which was just not as good as I remember it from the acoustic tour a couple of years ago.

On balance, I would have to say that this album is ... Read More:

The latest studio-based offering from Travis (who seeing the fortunes of rivals Take That improve also decided to jump on the come-back band wagon)offers a few happy go lucky songs that are perfectly suitable to nodding your head or tapping your feet to, but after a while you do grow tired of it and none of the songs stand out. They should have called this 'The Album With No Name' as no one will remember it in 5 years time!

The Byrds underwent many line-up changes but the line-up that recorded the classic Sweethearts of the rodeo album didn't last long even by Byrds' standards. Two of its key members, Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman, quit and formed the Flying Burrito Brothers. This twofer contains their first two albums.

The first album, Gilded Palace of Sin, is regarded as a landmark album in the evolution of country-rock, almost as important as Sweethearts of the rodeo. Despite the label country rock, this album actually contains a few soulful ballads. On this album, the group comprised Gram Parsons, Chris Hillman, Sneeky Pete Kleinow and Chris Ethridge. Most of the songs are originals, though the album also includes brilliant covers of Dark end of the street and Do right woman.

nicks style of playing was remarkable.... muscular rhythms, lush and discordant harmony stirred by nimble finger picking... the kind of musical possibilities that nick explored by changing the tuning of his guitar strings.... the result is a music that takes my mind off to places. his singing voice was comforting and entirely of his own. i get the sense that Nick would send his thoughts into flight everytime he'd hold his gaze on a view of english countryside... and nicks is the only music i've heard that really evokes images of english landscape, the mist, the green, the sombreness......
for the affect his musics had on me and my own music, i feel him as being one of the greatest songwriters i've heard..... despite only three albums, to think of my favourite nick drake songs ... Read More:

I listen to an expansive range of musical styles and ages, from "The Classics" right through to Metal. Now I'm not calling myself an expert in the field by any means, but you can usually get a gut feeling pretty quickly about the effort, imagination and skill put into any work - and this album, from the first listen - give you audio pleasure at every turn. It just oozes skillfull musicianship and beautifully crafted harmonies. The type of work that will always be considered a classic and will always be replayed by the listener over and over again. As for the opinions about Young's involvement etc - it really doesn't matter - CSN were already fantastic - adding in Y was simply a case of adding an extra ingredient of a similar style - and for me - on this album - his presence is only just ... Like it or not Mr Ronan Keating is a talented musican/performer. He has a great voice and knows perfectly how to do good music. This cd is perfect for fans and not fans also. A fantastic resumé of his best/strongest songs so far. Great job so far Ronan!
