I love Suzanne Vega - she is probably remembered by her more famous tracks, Luka and Tom's Diner, but her album provides us with a wealth of beautiful, meaningful lyrics and her striking and soulful voice. My favourites tracks are Fancy Poultry/ Ironbound and Language, with beautiful lyrics such as 'if language were liquid, it would be rushing in, instead here we are in a silence more eloquent than any words could ever be'. Lovely album.

Following on from the debut album 'MCMXC aD', this follow up showcases Michael Cretu's exploration of musical styles from around the world. This album expands on it's predecessor and in some places is all the better for it. However I don't feel it quite reaches the same pinnacle as 'MCMXC aD'. Why? Well, take 'Return to Innocence' a brillant track marred by MC's (?) North American Native Indian style chants. With 'I Love You..I'll Kill You', a beautiful sultry number that starts and ends well but is spoiled with a straight out of the 70s cheesy guitar solo sandwiched in between. As for the lyrics, although no doubt well meant, they border on preachy and again slightly cheesy. Ok, I may be being a little harsh but it's not a perfect album ... Read More:

I recently saw them on the TV doing some covers -a search on You tube also shows some great stuff. The CD however is a bit lame -not enough ukulele work and too much 3rd rate X-Factor singing. They should stick to what there best at -playing instruments. Also the songs on the album will not appeal to anyone with more modern taste. I`m trying to like it, but will probably end up at the car boot sale for £1. Sorry

It's a popular misconception that the Proclaimers are two brothers from Wales, but this is in fact untrue. There is only one Proclaimer and he met with poor records sales upon his first foray into musicality. His manager at the time suggested the performer repackage himself as a duo, probably with a twin brother, hey presto a folk phenomenon was born. At live performances mirrors are used to provide the illusion of there being two of them and on TV more technological methods are used. I have to agree with the other reviews about value for money if you already have a best of by the Proclaimer(s) as the remixed version is a bit poor. I'm one of those people that first heard of Kimya Dawson through the Juno soundtrack, probably one of those who Dawson's hardcore fans probably hate. Anyhow, it is a remarkable little album with a range of emotions portrayed in each song. One song it'll have you dancing around the room the next it'll have you crying. It is original, quirky and inspiring. A particular stand out song on the album is 'Loose Lips' which reflects Dawson's thoughts on the US-Iraq war.

Good traditional with a good combination of instruments. The variety of the selections is great. Solid all the way through.

Like it or not Mr Ronan Keating is a talented musican/performer. He has a great voice and knows perfectly how to do good music. This cd is perfect for fans and not fans also. A fantastic resumé of his best/strongest songs so far. Great job so far Ronan!

I just felt completely compelled to write my first ever review for this special album. I bought this on a recommendation from Amazon, thank you Amazon. To say that this album is good is an understatement, it's exceptional! Ceu's voice conveys a superb depth of emotion; her soothing sultry tones tug you right into the soul of the music. This emotionality is also coupled with a fine vocal texture that you can reach out and touch, I find this aspect of her voice completely addictive. This is an album that you simply must listen to if you have an interest in world music. The musical accompaniment is also excellent with its restraint.
