I cannot agree with Mr Harris and find his comments hard to believe. I have listened to this album many times. The first track does have that 'film noir' narrative style vocal (on purpose) but after that there is no way that any of the vocal performances could be called monotone? Ok, Mr Manning is not THE worlds greatest singer but his voice is interesting and works well with these songs. The material here is well constructed and very melodic; the lyrics poetic. The instrumentation is varied and well blended. There are some fine performances from band members Laura Fowles and Gareth Harwood and well as from guests such as the Tangents' Andy Tillison. All in all a good solid and delightful album.

Listening to this record i cant help but feel a swell of national pride rising through my body,its unbeleivably packed full of fantastic tracks from ENGLANDS most fantasticly creamy mental bands!!bands like EARTHTONE9, STOOPI, LATCH, BREED77 & the now infamous RAGING SPEDHORN deliver a powerfull kick to the jugular wich makes you open you eyes to how many absaloutly fantastic bands we have here in ENGLAND!! i reccomend this compilation and every other organ radio compilation to anyone who likes their music to be innovative and not a carbon copy of all the american tripe thats crossing the atlantic and destroying kids souls!, RULE BRITTANIA!!
