I found this box set on tv and bought it the next day. It has been really good listening to all the old 80's tracks. It is full of all those tracks you hear on the radio and recognise and miss hearing. My daughter will not admit to listening to what she describes as 'wrinkly songs' but it is amusing to hear her sing along. Well worth buying if you enjoy listening to songs with real catchy lyrics that are easy to understand

I found this box set on tv and bought it the next day. It has been really good listening to all the old 80's tracks. Most of the albums in the Super hits series of albums are greatest hits collections, but this is a straight reissue of Ray's 1984 album of duets with country singers, originally titled Friendship. It was originally released on vinyl, then later on CD with the same artwork. That version of the CD has long been unavailable. Now I know why, but the title Super hits is very confusing. It is fitting that Ray should have recorded this album - after all, he recorded R+B versions of country songs back in the sixties and took them high in the pop charts, including I can't stop loving you, a number one in Britain and America. In my opinion this is the first time a collection has been released on Dusty that truly covers her career properly. I may be biased! All of the US and UK hits from the sixties in their original Mono mixes as well as a healthy dose of her Atlantic soul period with all the comeback hits at the end. This is the one to get whether your new to Dusty or even if you think you have everything. No fan should be without this one.

After a pair of albums for Stax and three Arif Marden-produced albums for Atlantic, Joseph took to the studio with the legendary Lamont Dozier. Unsurprisingly the production and Dozier-penned songs retain a good deal of the Motown sound. What sets this album apart, again unsurprisingly, is Joseph herself, whose gutsy vocals are more rooted in the South than the typical Hitsville singer's. Freed of Motown's conventions, Dozier let Joseph vocalize passionately, providing contrast rather than conformity with the arrangements of McKinley Jackson. As on her next album, Feeling the Way, there are some proto-disco sounds here, but Dozier and Jackson keep things fresh, and the players, which include Detroit transplants and Los Angeles hotshots, combine the heat ...
