Having loved Ray Parker Jnr & Raydio since their 'Jack And Jill' and funky 'Is This A Love Thing' Days, I remember eagerly taking the vinyl version of this out of its sleeve for the first time 'back in the day'. To be honest, 'A Woman Needs Love' was a bit of a disappointment then and so it is no surprise that it hasn't improved with age either. The problem with this album is that both the title track and similar U.S hit single 'That Old Song' are incredibly 'easy on the ear' and border more on the 'radio 2 side' than soul. 'Old Pro' and 'So Into You' are more atypical Raydio slowies but are just o.k not great.
