This is the seminal Pale Fountains album - Pacific Street is a fantastic vivid album but this gets across the loose-limbed, melodic, latin-tinged acoustic magic which underpins Michael Head's dreamy and loved-up lyrics. The first two tracks from the double A-side single set the tone - slightly shambolic acoustic performances with the crooned vocal but it's on some of the quirkier numbers where the essence of the Pale Fountains is revealed. Norfolk Broads, for example, is a million miles away from the automated slick synth driven pop which was prevalent at the time.
