At their best, Atlantic Starr were one of the most outstanding soul/funk outfits of the late 70's and early 80's. This album, originally from 1980, may contain only 8 tracks but the majority here are of an exceptionally high standard. Opener 'When Love Calls' is a prime example of this. It's the kind of deliciously soulful mid tempo groover that just makes you go 'OH YES!' when you hear the first bars of it, you know? 'Does It Matter' by contrast is a joyous up-tempo track with a very important message (that time goes so fast so enjoy every moment!) and lyrics that will make you think as well as want to dance.'Think About That' is funkier but more of it's time and hasn't dated particularly well.
