I have never been into classical music, however the TV programs Maestro and Last Choir standing (I know trash TV... sorry) made me realise I did like some classical music. So time to test that theory, and of course this CD fitted the bill perfectly, a bit of everything and 99% you will probably know. Good album, maybe I may have discovered culture :-)

I am not usually a Chillout music fan, but this album totally swayed me. It's brilliant for relaxation, but without being boring. Each song is totally individual yet still really haunting and calming. I can't really describe how good it is, but whatever music type you enjoy, you will still love this album. JUST BUY THE GODDAMN CD

I am not usually a Chillout music fan, but this album totally swayed me. It's brilliant for relaxation, but without being boring. Each song is totally individual yet still really haunting and calming. I can't really describe how good it is, but whatever music type you enjoy, you will still love this album. The first CD of this collection is quite good, the second is pretty good too. They are both quite mellow and relaxing. The third CD is too odd and new agey. The fourth CD is quite brooding and not at all relaxing, it's mainly Bach music with cheap and nasty synth effects played over the top.

I first heard this sitting in a cafe in Paris having Brunch a few years back with friends- my immediate thought was- must be buddha bar- didn't know they had bought out a new cd!. My brunch got cold, my friends ignored as i drifted away, only coming back into reality when the bill arrived- to which I replied "what's this CD your playing"- It was the above. Next morning went into town & bought it. 2 and half years later I'm still playing it....an amazing mixture of music I had never heard (Operatic/Dance style: Carmentia Dancing to fantastic remakes/mix of 'Shaft' yes from the movie & La Vie En Rose & must be my most favourite 60 seconds - from the old Few Dollars (Clint Eastwood Movie!!!). I had the great fortune to listen to Buddha-bar VIII by Sam Popat last year... WOW! How amazing. I was completely mesmerised by the captivating sounds created by Popat. On the premise that the earlier works would be just as spell-binding, I purchased Buddha-Bar I & II by Claude Challe.... Absolutely awful. What a waste of money. I was completely disappointed by all 4 CD's... not even 1 song captured my attention... nothing, nada, I found it boring, and I actually made myself sit through every song, in the hope that out of 4 CD's I might find at least 1 song that flirted with my senses, but I was not lucky enough. I am not impressed by Claude Challe, and I will certainly remember the name simply to avoid it in future. He reminds me of Enigma ... Read More:
