I didn't actually buy this from Amazon but downloaded it from iTunes. I love this band's sound - blues-y, a little C&W, more than a little Chilli Peppers. 'Betterman' has rapidly become one of my favourite tracks, it is constantly played.. great lyrics, great delivery and superb slide-type guitar. I am sure we will be hearing a lot more from them over here before long.

I didn't actually buy this from Amazon but downloaded it from iTunes. I love this band's sound - blues-y, a little C&W, more than a little Chilli Peppers. 'Betterman' has rapidly become one of my favourite tracks, it is constantly played.. great lyrics, great delivery and superb slide-type guitar. I am sure we will be hearing a lot more from them over here before long.

A truely warming album. Very nicely put together, this album ranks along my all time classics right up there with some of donnell jones work. Its a short album but with no filer tracks, i would recommend this album to anyone who appreicates chilling back with a happy soulfull sound. definate 5 stars.

Last Wednesday I hadn't heard of this guy and his great band. The blurb in the programme sounded interesting...."blues, reggae, country, Appalachian folk, funk, rock and hip hop beats". What I witnessed in two blistering sets was stunning. This CD, recorded last year (along with a 2004 dvd concert) certainly captures the magic and majesty of the JBT. (The dvd is also special as the MC is the late Paul Hestor). Forget the references elsewhere to Jack Johnson or Ben Harper...this guy is something else and deserves as much, if not more acclaim!!

I liked the vast majority of this albums songs. All Pearl Jams hits are featured. A few reason why I have not given a 5/5 star review are: The remastered songs (2 on each album). Theyre just not as good as the originals. Also the album structure I feel is not right. Instead of charting PJ's career chronologically (Grunge-Post Grunge etc), songs are placed in what appears to be random order, although the first disk is a lot heavier. Personally I would have done it chronologically, but you cant please everyone! The album cover is a little naff, the sleeves make it difficult to get CD's out of and often the CD's will fall out if your carrying the album about, what was wrong with a hard case?!
