Well, this just takes me back to days at the loft, soulful garage and excellent mixes. Just think Kiss 100 FM, Saturday night before it went all commercial and horrible! Well worth buying for classic old tunes which would be near on impossible to track down these days. Don't think about it just buy it!

This album has been out for a while now, so i have had enough time to let it sink in. When i first bought this album and listened to it for the first time, the thought that came across my mind was Amazing. If you like AC/DC then i guaranty that you will love airbourne. This album is modern but yet it keep its dignity of bringing back old rock! a great album!

This album has been out for a while now, so i have had enough time to let it sink in. When i first bought this album and listened to it for the first time, the thought that came across my mind was Amazing. If you like AC/DC then i guaranty that you will love airbourne. This album is modern but yet it keep its dignity of bringing back old rock! a great album!

If they'd inserted the word "early" after "The Essence Of" this compilation would be a bit more honest about where it's coming from. CD 1 starts with 10 (not 9!) tracks from his early days on Atlantic (1952-56), and there are more Atlantic tunes scattered through the rest of the collection, though the great Mess Around is omitted for some reason; all the rest of the album is from the dawn of his recording career, mostly from 1949. Ray's talent was already very obvious at this time, but his unique genius wasn't - before he hit the bigtime he tended to stick to the styles of currently popular artists, notably Nat King Cole and Charles Brown. So if you like late 40s/early 50s rhythm & blues of this kind, or are just interested in extending ... Read More:
