Don't be misled by the title, because Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey had last played together in 1935, when Tommy stormed out of a session, and weren't to play together again until 1953. This compilation covers the early forties, when one or the other brother took part in Hollywood films, the balance being tilted in Tommy's favour, by a ratio of two to one. Sound quality is glorious, most of the material was unreleased before, and thirteen tracks are in stereo. Rhino has produced a 24-page booklet of notes by Will Friedwald, together with a filmography, which makes it a must for fans of big bands and/or films.
