Elis Regina is very possibly the best brazilian MPB singer ever and she proves it here. But her voice and choice of songs also show her up as much more than that. Because she ventures into risky territory at the time (mostly the 60s and the 70s) in Brazil under a military dictatorship with the ensuing censorship... She ventures into rock, folk, psychadelism, protest song. Always remaining true to herself: "this world is just a passage, a place for us to learn - it would make no sense otherwise"
