Great set of numbers from the film. But whatever you do don't miss Trevor Jones'snippets of incidental music from the film. If you play them sequentially, without the main tracks, they form a coherent threead, with the theme developing through subtle change from bright and whimsical, through wistful, through to dramatic and doom laden. Those incidental snippets actually move me more than the main pieces, perhaps except for the masterful d'Oranjuez.

I listened to this dual cd for the first time yesterday. It had only been delivered two days earlier and this was my first opportunity to hear it . I played the Brassed Off cd first the music is well chosen and trevor jones puts some lovely little touches in between, it is a real joy to listen to. the other cd I was a bit doubtful of as I am not a lover of classical brass but this made me sit up and listen,not only have they picked the classical pieces you know but they are brilliantly played by the Grimethorpe colliery band. I had to sit and listen the first overture made me take notice and from then on I was engrossed in the rest of the cd. I would recomend this dualcd set to anyone I have been a brass band fan for about 55 years and i still ... Read More:

This box-set is my absolute favorite. There are lot of different brass music, and the mix of classics, modern moviehits, and the succes brassed of is just a perfect hit. Very good music!
